HeyhoeBlack Ivory could form part of a good day for trainer Malcolm Jefferson by landing the 2.25 at Warwick on Saturday. Jefferson’s progressive young stayer looks nicely weighted for this Pertemps handicap qualifier.

Remarkably consistent throughout his short career, Black Ivory was a decisive winner over shorter last time and fits the mould of a lightly-raced and improving young horse in a competitive handicap.

Jefferson’s stable star Waiting Patiently steps up in grade in the 2.05 at Kempton but if he’s as good as connections think he is then he should be able to win this Listed contest against some well-established rivals that have reached a plateau in their long careers.
