AscotDaryl Carter brings us a magnificent seven of tips for Saturday's cracking day of racing, with selections from Ascot, Ffos Las and Market Rasen. Check out his picks below and claim an exclusive Virgin Bet offer that provides new customers with £20 in free bets when you bet £10.

HAMISH - (1.25 Ascot, 2pts win - 4/1)

HAMISH is one of my strongest bets on Saturday, and I think the market has seriously underestimated him. Of course, Trueshan and Stradivarius are class acts and will be tough to beat, but they had a right ding dong battle just 14 days ago on soft ground in Paris, and that had to have left a mark on the pair.

The drying ground won't suit Trueshan either, and Hamish only has a neck to find with him from their meeting this time last year at Newbury. The selection was over the top on that occasion when he turned out ten days later after demolishing a handicap field off of a handicap mark of 98, and he is now open to vast improvement, stepping up to 2m for the first time.

He has shaped as though he has been crying out for this step up in trip, and I can't wait to see him take his chance.

BRANDO - (2.00 Ascot, 1pt each-way - 20/1

BRANDO has ideal conditions to put his best foot forward, and he looks a big price on the balance of his form, notably his close up July Cup defeat on ground that would have been quick enough for him.

He only has two lengths to find on that run with some of these at the top of the market and wasn't granted the clearest of passages. He was a nose second in the race last term at 80/1 behind Glen Shiel, who doesn't arrive in the same form this time around. There are stacks of pace on in this race, and that will suit his hold-up style of running.

His Beverley run last time on good ground over 5f is easily forgiven seems as that's the opposite to what he really wants. Soft ground over a stiff six and at this particular track looks ideal, and lets hope there is one last hurrah in Brando

AZANO - (2:00 Ascot, 0.5pt each-way - 100/1)

The outsider of the field AZANO is a tentative selection, but I think you can afford to be flippant at the price of 100/1. This is just his second try over 6f. His first attempt saw him held up, which simply doesn't suit, and he has been running consistently well this season, but for being caught late over 7f and his early sectionals suggest this is trip is well worth a try.

In the hope that they just let him bowl along out in front, he could prove tough to peg back.

BAAEED - (3.10 Ascot, 1pt win - 5/2)

I am happy to take a chance on BAAEED at the prices. I am not convinced that this is the best track for Palace Pier, and he was beaten the in this race last year when bumping into The Revenant. It's not hard to argue that other than Poetic Flare in France, that's the toughest opponent he has faced.

Baaeed comes into the "could be anything" bracket. He should get a good clip to aim at here, and he will be much better suited to straight track and what he did mid-race in France in terms of sectional data was very impressive.

SENIOR CITIZEN - (3.20 Market Rasen, 1pt win - 9/1)

SENIOR CITIZEN is one of our horses to follow, and catching him early in the season could be key. He has a good record fresh, and his last run on a right-handed track saw him chase home Espoir De Romay when attempting to give him 10lbs, and he was only beaten two lengths.

That rival is now rated 160, and he ran some excellent races in defeat in three runs at the back end of this season in much stronger races than this. He has a good pot in him, and this looks like the ideal race to keep him on side.

ADDEYBB - (3.50 Ascot, 1pt each-way - 8/1)

ADDEYBB is a remarkably big price in this race, considering he finished in front of favourite Mishriff in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown when Tom Marquand got the tactics wrong, setting a slow pace.

He won this race last year, and the negatives are really tough to find. Ground conditions are ideal - and in turn not so for the front of the market- the track is a course he loves, and he is drawn well in stall one.

It would be a surprise if Adayar didn't attempt to make the running along with Mac Swiney, and he can sit on the tails of the two leaders in pole position. He looks a rock-solid selection as an each-way proposition.

BALLYANDY - (4.35 Ffos Las, 2pts each-way - 12/1)

BALLYANDY looks wildly over-priced here on reappearance given his record fresh and the form of his second-place finish in this race last term. The winner, Sceau Royal, is now 7lbs higher, the third, Buzz, is now 19lbs higher, and the fourth Milkwood destroyed today's favourite Calico and is also 10lbs higher while the selection is 3lbs lower. ~

Ballyandy's last four runs have come in two grade 1's and two grade 2's, and his last start in a handicap saw him finish second in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham off a 3lbs higher mark. This is slightly weaker than last season's race with an average rating (not including his) of 138, while last year's contest was 139.5, and at his age, you would like to think this was an early-season target.

He is very consistent during the early part of the season, and he must be backed.
