SUPREME ESCAPE (1.50 Wincanton, 1pt win 5/2)

The progressive SUPREME ESCAPE will appreciate this stiffer test of 3m after his best work at Chepstow came late in the day to overhaul Faustinovick and he looks another young chaser to keep on side for Evan Williams.

The pair clocked excellent times on the final circuit and from three out to the finish and they pulled clear of their rivals in a matter of strides with 23 lengths back to the third-placed horse. He is entitled to improve on that effort after just two chase starts and will prove tough to beat.

FAUSTINOVICK (2.10 Ludlow, 1pt win 7/2)

The form line with the first selection is likely to carry over and that was a career best effort for FAUSTINOVICK at Chepstow so he is taken to continue the progressive start he has made over fences.

He was well beaten by today’s rival Enzo D’Airy but his jumping went to pieces on that occasion and he looked a more assured jumper next time out. The selection’s novice hurdle form suggests he has greater scope for improvement, so with that excellent run behind him he can make a fist of this with the likely favourite.

AND THE NEW (2.20 Wincanton, 1pt win 9/2)

AND THE NEW was well punted for the abandoned Exeter meeting last month and, despite this trip being at the edge of his stamina reserve,s he is taken to get his head back in front off this workable handicap mark.

This is easier than the last two races he has contested and represents a slight ease in grade, while the time figure he recorded here over 2m4f after a 53- day break is surely good enough to land this contest.

He was only caught late on there by a well-handicapped rival and then ran a blinder over 3m at Cheltenham in a hot contest that is working out well. The 3m stretched him there but with a soft lead looking likely back here at Wincanton where front runners have a good record and this 2m5f should be within his range.

He will not mind if conditions deteriorate given he won his novice hurdle on soft ground at Doncaster and he is unexposed in this sphere so gets the vote.
