Sam Turner's Best Bets BlogDISCAY (Market Rasen, 4.10) made up a lot of ground from the home turn over course and distance last week and it told in the closing stages as he faded late on.

Now a 10-year-old, the selection retains plenty of ability and was landing a tenth career success at Wetherby just after Christmas and has continued to run well since. His effort here on Thursday proves he is in decent nick and, with the yard having a nice winner at Wetherby yesterday with Top Ville Ben, a more effective ride could see him go close at a value price.

INAMINNA (Chepstow, 4.30) appeared to show the benefit of a wind operation with a more encouraging display last time on his first run for seven weeks at Taunton.

He returns to a venue where he has proved very effective previously (1-1) and there looks more to come under ideal conditions, with his confidence improving.

LIOSDUIN BHEARNA (Chepstow, 5.05) was rewarded for a series of creditable efforts with a hard-fought success at Ayr last time.

A 5lb rise for that win may not be prohibitive and he is closely matched with Klare Castle on their running at this venue back in January. The latter has since performed with credit in a hot Kempton handicap when he was tight for room at a crucial stage and is worthy of a saver with some firms paying five places.
