BOBBY ROCKS (Pakenham, Race 8, 1200m, 9.00am GMT)
Race 8 could go the way of BOBBY ROCKS at an each-way price. She’s been pretty consistent this season without getting any luck recently, with a win four starts ago followed by some tame efforts at Flemington and Sandown.
She ran over course and distance here on March 12 and was forced to race wide early before finishing fourth, beaten little more than length. This time around, Bobby Rocks breaks from stall 1so she should be able to save plenty of ground from the inside.
With leading jockey Brett Prebble on board, she rates a leading contender at double-figure odds.
TRADE STORM (Albany Race 6, 1600m, 8.45am GMT)
It’s difficult to see the consistent TRADE STORM getting beat here now he’s won or been placed in each of his past four runs.
He broke his maiden in eyecatching fashion here two starts ago over this trip when winning by two lengths before stepping up in trip to 1800m ten days ago. He looked the likely winner of that race when looming large on the scene with a couple of hundred metres to go but just faded late on.
Dropping back in trip is clearly the right move and he will be extremely hard to beat if he can replicate his recent form
BRINKMANSHIP (Beaudesert race 7, 1200m, 6.40am GMT)
BRINKMANSHIP has been in good heart of late and loves this course, with two of his four career wins coming here.
He has been competing against some tough competition of late in higher levels. He finds himself back in Class 4 grade here, which should be to his liking and he is reunited with jockey Daniel Griffin who rode him to his maiden victory on this track.
Brinkmanship has got an ideal draw in stall two, should be at the peak of his fitness and will be mighty hard to beat here.
