Race 1 – 1.50pm Doncaster – William Hill Bet 10 Get 10 Spring Mile Handicap

Having run well for a long way in the Lincoln last season, this lower class handicap could be there for the taking for ONE NIGHT THUNDER. He has been off the track since 10th in the aforementioned race last year, but has gone well fresh before and is 4lb lower than 12 months ago. The handicapper has given him a chance given he was a close fourth at Newmarket off a mark of 90 earlier in his career.

Race 2 – 2.05pm Kempton – Virgin Bet Queen’s Prize Handicap

Kamboo’s all-weather record is worth respecting, but ALRAZEEN is a tempting price given he had racked up a hat-trick of wins on artificial surfaces in early February. They included a 1½-length success over course and distance, and he was too keen in a hot race at Southwell next time out. He is only 3lb higher than for his most recent success and can easily be forgiven that one poor run.

Race 3 – 2.25pm Doncaster – William Hill Best Odds Guaranteed Cammidge Trophy Stakes (Listed)

A staple of this division for a few seasons now, SPYCATCHER is a good horse to catch first time out for the season. He has won on two of his four seasonal returns, finishing a close third in two others, and twice has a verdict over favourite James’s Delight from last season when conceding weight. They race off levels here, so while that rival could be an improver as only a four-year-old, the established order is expected to hold sway for Karl Burke.

Race 4 – 2.40pm Kempton – Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Rosebery Handicap

With three wins and two thirds from eight all-weather starts, TEUMESSIAS FOX appeals most here. The six-year-old races off just 1lb higher than when a 3¼-length winner over 1m4f at Kempton in January of last year, having been competitive a times on turf in 2024. However, he is two from three on Kempton’s polytrack, so this is clearly where he excels and he has won after 168 days off the track in the past. He rates a solid selection.

Race 5 – 3.00pm Doncaster – William Hill Doncaster Mile Stakes (Listed)

The front-running POINT LYNAS may not be ideally suited by the track at Doncaster, but he looks as rapid an improver as any in this line-up and may take some catching. The six-year-old readily steamed away with a Listed race at Pontefract last July and was second when sent over to Qatar most recently to blow away the cobwebs. On a sound surface, and in the form of his career, there might not be a rival who gets close.

Race 6 – 3.15pm Kempton – Virgin Bet Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes (Listed)

Although she has been off the track for 533 days, a chance is taken on SHUWARI, who was close to being top class as a two-year-old in 2023. There is hope in her family that she will have trained on and could yet be an improver with age, which would make her a formidable filly to beat here given she was second in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile as a juvenile.

15:15 Virgin Bet Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race)

Race 7 – 3.35pm Doncaster – William Hill Lincoln

Fiercely competitive as ever, it might just be that the lightly-raced GODWINSON has a big handicap success in him for William Haggas. His last run of 2024 was disappointing, but he had previously won at Goodwood and been drawn badly in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket. Having finished a close second of 21 on his first run of last season, he should be fit and firing, while after only nine runs in his career, he should be open to more improvement too.
