Leicester vs Tottenham Tips – 7/1 & 10/1 Specials the Pick of the Bets for Monday Night Action

Eight years ago, these two sides fought out the most improbable Premier League title race of modern times, so it was probably fitting that the less likely even of that duo emerged victorious. Some things haven’t changed: Jamie Vardy, when back to full fitness, still looks set to lead the Leicester line at the age of 37 and Spurs still haven’t won a trophy since 2008.

That is, as ever, a blatantly unfair way of looking at Tottenham’s consistently measured success at a club. Since that glorious 2015/16 season, Leicester have won the FA Cup, but have now had to suffer through relegation and a tense promotion battle to come back. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Spurs have reached a Champions League final and been inducted into the “Big Six”. They are unsurprisingly short favourites at 8/13 best odds with Unibet and Quinnbet to return from the Midlands with three points, with Leicester at 9/2 with Midnite and AK Bets among others.

Leicester vs Tottenham Tips

Tip #1 – Tottenham to Lead 2-0 @ Half Time @ 7/1 with Paddy Power/Betfair

In games per goal, this is the highest scoring fixture in Premier League history, with 17 having been scored in the last three matches between the sides. Even when they suffered relegation, Leicester still beat Spurs 4-1 when last hosting them in February 2023, though they had suffered a 6-2 shellacking the September before. Ange Postecoglou’s side came out running while the Foxes were a tier below last term, and expect something similar on Monday night.

Tottenham won eight and drew two of their opening ten games last season, and though their form fell away markedly come May, injury losses and suspensions at crucial times, almost all incurred in the 4-1 home defeat by Chelsea, did totally derail their early momentum. They look likely to pick up fairly sharply again, with Dominic Solanke surely keen to make an early mark. He could score plenty if James Maddison and Son Heung-Min return in fine fettle, while on the other hand, Leicester’s pre-season form has been mixed at best. Even though the promoted sides have acquitted themselves well so far, Spurs shocking the hosts into submission with two clear goals looks a worthy first half play.

Tip #2 – Dejan Kulusevski to Score Last @ 10/1 with Boylesports

Dominic Solanke will probably play from the start for an immediate full debut, which means one of Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski, who have generally started throughout Spurs’ pre-season, are favourites for the drop. It is the Swede who has mostly operated centrally upfront in those games though, which make him perhaps the likelier candidate to begin the game on the bench.

If Spurs start fast as expected, one of their substitutions could well be ripe to poach the final strike. Given he has preceded this season in the striker’s role, Kulusevski could well come on to provide some finishing touches.

Steve Cooper has had a tough time of things in pre-season, losing a key man in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and winning just once in four games, against League One Shrewsbury. Three games against continental opposition have ended in three defeats, the most recent a 3-0 reverse to Ligue 1 Lens.

Leicester City Pre-Season Results

Tottenham Performances So Far

Spurs have gone global during pre-season, visiting Japan, South Korea, Edinburgh and, erm, Loftus Road, across six games. They also played Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich twice in a post-breakup double act, losing both narrowly, though they look more set for this season than their counterparts.

Spurs Pre-Season Results

Spurs 5-1 Hearts

Spurs 2-0 QPR

Spurs 3-2 Vissel Kobe

Spurs 4-3 K League XI

Spurs 1-2 Bayern Munich
