image-left-align Sam Turner's Best Bets BlogTIGERWOLF (Brighton, nap, 4.00) had a profitable spring campaign and looks to be returning to his best again after a fine run over a trip too far here on Wednesday.

The five-year-old picked up two all-weather races in April but despite running consistently well since, has just failed to get his head back in front including over course and distance in late May when beaten by a rapidly diminishing neck. Not so good on his next two outings, he nonetheless returned to form at this meeting two days ago and almost got home over a stamina-stretching mile but for being mugged near the line.

Tigerwolf is yet to win at the seaside venue but has recorded four second places and clearly handles the quirky track well. He drops back in distance on Friday and is due a return to the winner’s enclosure.

FIZZY FEET (Wolverhampton, nb, 1.50) and CONKERING HERO (Wolverhampton, 4.20) standout on my figures at Dunstall Park, with the former looking a sure-fire future winner after bumping into very short-priced favourite Rockin Roy over course and distance 11 days ago. The victor had already scored twice and was also a Royal Ascot Windsor Castle Stakes seventh, so there was no disgrace in defeat for Fizzy Feet who certainly lived up to her name.

Blessed with bags of speed, she can see off some potentially interesting juveniles in the opener.

Conkering Hero is another looking well-named and is on a four-timer after victories at Kempton, Chelmsford and latterly, over course and distance. The first two of those victories were achieved from the front but he showed versatility last Friday by tracking the pace and then taking it up on the home stretch.

He looks progressive enough to defy the handicapper again.
