Sam Turner's Best Bets BlogHARLEQUIN ROSE (Brighton, 5.00) may have only won once in 22 starts but it was here and she has run well at the track several times since.

The sole victory came way back in 2016 but more recently she has posted two solid placed efforts including over course and distance last September when she chased the winner hard but to no avail. The selection made her seasonal reappearance a month ago but wasn’t expected to show much and didn’t - finishing last. However, she should come on for the effort and now finds herself in a contest little better than a seller.

Harlequin Rose runs the quirky track well, has some decent speed figures in the book and looks value at around 13-2.

Harlequin Rose 1pt ew @ 13-2

MAGICAL MOLLY JOE (Wolverhampton, 8.15) is 3-5 here and on a course and distance hat-trick tonight. The mare loves to finish fast and late and powered again to victory three weeks ago, clocking a decent time from off the pace in the process.

Clearly thriving, she gets on well with Jane Elliott and the pair should be on the premises again.

Magical Molly Joe 1pt win @ 7-2

GENTLEWOMAN (Wolverhampton, 8.45) has something to prove after flopping on her second run at Newmarket.

The Shamardal filly had started her career with great promise, finishing a close up second and looking like her Group 1 Ascot Coronation Stakes entry could be fulfilled. Unfortunately, her run of 18 days ago put paid to such lofty aspirations and she is re-routed to Dunstall Park.

A hood is applied tonight and it would be no surprise to see Gentlewoman bounce back.

Gentlewoman 1pt win @ 4-1
