4:15 Hamilton – Sky Bet Extra Places Every Day Handicap (Class 4) (3yo 0-85) – Glorious Kitty 1pt WIN

GLORIOUS KITTY was just out of the frame for us when running a blinder from her unfavourable draw at Epsom in the three-year-old dash last Saturday. She didn’t appear all that in love with the track having been outpaced around the two furlong marker, before rallying through runners to clock the second quickest final furlong.

She had the largest stride length that day which bodes well for the return to this six furlongs on a a stiffer track, and if stall fourteen is no issue then she has to be considered with that recent run under her belt bound to have brought her on.

4:45 Hamilton – Sky Bet, For The Fans Handicap (GBBPlus Race) (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-88) – Sam Hawkens 2pt WIN

William Haggas has a solid record in course handicaps here over the last five seasons reading 11-5-7, and he sends just the one runner up in SAM HAWKENS, with Harry Burns taking 3lbs of the latest 6lbs rise off. Burns’ has a good record when teaming up with Haggas of late, reading 29-9-6 and returning an eye-catching £41.26 profit to a £1 stake.

The Galileo gelding is a selection for the Northumberland Plate ante-post column so I’d be hopeful of a good run here, and now the yard have seemingly figured him out, this return to turf should pose little issue. He clocked a smart time figure when bolting away at Newcastle last time out to beat Steel Tiger by just over a length, and while that one is better off in the weights, this extra furlong can only bring out further improvement for Sam Hawkens.

5:15 Hamilton – Sky Bet Build A Bet Handicap (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-95) – Manila Scouse 1pt EW 4 places

MANILA SCOUSE drops to class three company for the first time since landing a Racing League contest at Chester last August from a 2lbs higher mark under Dave Allen, and he looks primed to return to the winners enclosure after three spins within the space of a month, lowering his mark by 6lbs.

He made all to win here over six furlongs in a 15k class two last June, and later was only beaten three lengths in the Scottish Stewards’ Cup here in 0-100 company so his course form bodes well, and now looks around the right time to catch him. The form of his Chester seventh when not  given all that much effort in the saddle has worked out well, with the sixth landing a Navan  handicap next time out, the fourth winning at Pontefract from a pound higher, and the third subsequently landing a listed contest at Haydock.

This looks a much weaker event, and it would be a surprised see him out of the frame if returning to prominent tactics.
