Sam Turner's Best BetsBlogTop tipster Sam Turner is a regular on Racing TV and a proponent of speed figures and sectional timing. Here are his best bets for the day’s action

Rotherwick (Windsor, 7.00)

Rotherwick has course figures that read 2424154 and seems happier in small fields - like this evening - (6-25 in fields of 1-8 as opposed to 0-26 in nine runner races or more).

The seven-year-old could arguably appreciate a little respite from the assessor, but all of his best speed ratings have been achieved at this venue and he looks one to be with each-way if the layers permit.

The chief danger on my ratings appears to be Allegiant but he looks a tough horse to win with at present so preference is for a solid win and place wager on Windsor regular Rotherwick.

(Engrossed, Wolverhampton, 6.50)

The selection shaped with some promise over course and distance last time when he recovered well to hold a chance with a furlong to run after being wiped out leaving the stalls.

From that point, the selection was trapped wide which meant he had little left in the tank at the business end, but he is reunited with Rob Hornby today (form figures 172) and the potential of a faster track courtesy of the recent rain may also play to Engrossed's strengths and this step up in trip and a more patient ride could reap dividends.
