Sam Turner's Best BetsBlogSam Turner’s speed figures pinpoint a fancied chaser at Plumpton plus two bets at Wolverhampton on Monday.

Motawaafeq (Wolverhampton, 7.10)

MOTAWAAFEQ showed signs of ability in three runs when trained in France and now looks set for a decent winter on the all-weather here after winning first time out for Michael Appleby on Saturday.

The selection had run well on an artificial surface at Pornichet-La-Baule when finishing fast but too late over an extended mile. However, he came good over 7f at the weekend, again finishing with a flourish but this time to success. He didn’t win by far but the effort can be upgraded as he recovered from a poor start from a high draw.

Motawaafeq is moved up in distance tonight but clearly got the trip in France and looks open to plenty of improvement.

Bahuta Acha (Wolverhampton, 5.10)

BAHUTA ACHA didn’t get the run of the race when well backed over course and distance last week. Slowly away, he eventually made progress a furlong out but the winner had got first run and despite chasing hard, he had to settle for minor honours.

The four-year-old is maintaining his form here well with a decent set of track speed figures and is expected to run a big race.

Flaminger (Plumpton, 2.50)

FLAMINGER has been plugging away without much luck and again ran a solid race in a better contest here two weeks ago on his chasing bow.

He was beaten 19 lengths but it was by Alan King’s Lisp who has consistently performed with credit in lofty company including at the Cheltenham festival. Flaminger did nothing wrong in defeat but now drops a grade, moves up in trip and is fancied get on the scoresheet.

Motawaafeq (Wolverhampton, 7.10) 1pt ew @ 9-2

Bahuta Acha (Wolverhampton, 5.10) 1pt win @ 11-4

Flaminger (Plumpton, 2.50) 1pt win @ 6-5

Flaminger is your NAP of the Day for Monday.
