Sam Turner heads to Wolverhampton for two fancied selections plus a Plumpton NH mudlark on Monday.
Tio Estaban (Wolverhampton, 7.25)
TIO ESTABAN nips across the Irish Sea from Enniscorthy in an attempt to replicate his course and distance victory recorded in November.
That was the Irish raider’s first visit to the UK and also his all-weather bow, and the result was a well-backed, easy victory. He was slowly away but picked up in fine style to move clear in the final furlong and land a first win.
He obviously took to the Tapeta surface but wasn’t so good in a better race on Dundalk's Polytrack last time when he looked wound up on the way to the start and then ran a little flat. Perhaps he needed the outing as he’d been off for two months but there will be no excuses on the fitness front today and he rates the one to beat in a lowly finale.
Snow Ocean (Wolverhampton, 6.25)
Matewan keeps finding one too good and may have to play second-fiddle again, this time to SNOW OCEAN who is 2-5 since joining David Evans and again ran well in a bunched finish here just after Christmas, with the winner and second both going in since.
The four-year-old clocked well in defeat but gave the impression there would have been more to come over further. That theory is put to the test this evening and he is fancied to make it a third success for Evans.
Jully Les Buxy (Plumpton, 2.10)
JULLY LES BUXY ploughed through the mud at Lingfield 13 days ago and the tough mare has her conditions again.
The vetaran did run in snatches but asserted when she needed to and apart from Potters Hedger, there was absolutely no threat.
She has a powerful engine and can outstay the field again.
Tio Estaban (Wolverhampton, 7.25) 1pt win @ 4-1
Snow Ocean (Wolverhampton, 6.25) 1pt win @ 15-8
Jully Les Buxy (Plumpton, 2.10) 1/2pt ew @ 9-2
