Sam Turner heads to Wolverhampton for two picks flagged up by his speed ratings.
Elusif (Wolverhampton, 5.00)
The opener at the evening meeting is a lowly affair with some regular rogues in attendance but ELUSIF knows how to win and bounced back to form in style at Kempton on Saturday.
That was the first run for his new trainer and despite drifting a little in the market, the selection bolted clear after hitting the front 2f out and was subsequently never in any danger. It was a first victory over 1m but Elusif has also been very effective over today’s distance and a year ago was in the process of stringing together a hat-trick over 7f.
The winning spree was also recorded at Kempton but in his current mood and in a poor contest, the gelding should prove hard to peg back here.
Bond Angel (Wolverhampton, 7.30)
BOND ANGEL has been in hot form in handicaps at Southwell and Lingfield so it was a little surprising to see the mare dropped into a claimer last time. She did come away victorious (and unclaimed) after holding on gamely in a tight finish but was found to be lame after, although it must have been just a minor tweak as she is back out again six days later.
It has to be mentioned that she is very inexperienced on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface but won at Lingfield on Polytrack on her first visit just over a month ago and is in fine fettle at the moment.
Elusif (Wolverhampton, 5.00) 1pt win @ 11-4
Bond Angel (Wolverhampton, 7.30) 1pt win @ 2-1
