Bryony Frost wins on FrodonDaily Mail tipster Sam Turner has a strong selection at Newcastle and is also in action over the jumps if the weather allows.

Ice Pyramid (Newcastle, 4.55)

ICE PYRAMID didn’t seem as well suited by Lingfield as he was at Newcastle on his penultimate start and could be worth backing to regain the winning thread.

The winners have dried up in recent times for amateur rider Simon Walker who isn’t the pre-eminent rider in that sphere anymore, so it perhaps didn’t come as a huge surprise that he was picked off late on by Ross Birkett who gave Dutch Uncle a terrific spin last time.

Ice Pyramid had previously sparkled over course and distance in January, hammering Trinity Star by five lengths in a strong time.

A repeat performance would be good enough in today’s field.

Yala Enki (Haydock, 3.15)

Hopefully, YALA ENKI is given the chance to shine in the Unibet Grand National Trial.

Winner of today’s feature in 2018, the 10-year-old races off an 11lb higher mark now, but his ability to handle deep ground and the tight turns of Haydock will hopefully negate that rise.

The selection was a gallant third in the Welsh National, a position he occupied 12 months previously, and he built on that display with a fluent Taunton success just three weeks later which showcased his constitution and durability.

He must go to the well again today, but connections prefer his chance to that of Truckers Lodge who also held an entry at the five-day stage and Yala Enki may prove the answer to an intriguing renewal.

Jolly’s Cracked It (Ascot, 3.00)

A wind operation appears to have helped JOLLY’S CRACKED IT rediscover some of his form and there was a hint last time he could be ready to strike again.

The selection traditionally saves his best for Ascot and, having won four times at today’s venue, it was no surprise to see him chase home live Champion Hurdle contender Thomas Darby over course and distance last time.

He could be some value to beat the likes of The Con Man and Eden Du Houx, both of which are unexposed and progressive hurdlers.
