Top tipster Sam Turner is a regular on Racing TV and a proponent of speed figures and sectional timing. Here are his best bets for the day’s action
Michael Appleby had a couple of winners on Wednesday and Kasbaan is fancied to keep the yard ticking over on Thursday night.
The selection joined new connections in August after not making the grade for Owen Burrows and promptly landed a Class 3 handicap over course and distance despite a 117-day break. It was a decent effort on the clock and no fluke as he reappeared four days later in a £43,500 contest when - despite a wide draw - he took the race apart from the furlong pole.
Kasbaan looks an exciting prospect for the all-weather winter season (unbeaten on Polytrack) and looks progressive enough under these conditions to shrug off the handicapper’s scrutiny.
Keeping with in-form horses clocking well, Queen Of Kalahari is another on a course and distance hat-trick.
Although made to knuckle down to repel a dogged Requited, the filly was not to be caught last time and the race looks even better now as the runner up (and third) have won since. It was two wins in a week for the selection who returns to action with the luxury of a 14-day break under the saddle and although her mark has risen, she is due to go up a further 3lb.
This rates a good opportunity to grab some more headlines.
