Sam Turner's Best BetsBlogTop tipster Sam Turner is a regular on Racing TV and a proponent of speed figures and sectional timing. Here are his best bets for the day’s action

Global Destination (Brighton, 2.30)

Global Destination won his sole outing at Brighton over 7f with some cut in the ground and was a little unlucky not to finish closer at Epsom in a decent heat last time when denied a clear passage a furlong out.

He was running on nicely in that race without quite getting to the leaders and now looks well worth a try at a mile. All of his career-best efforts have been achieved with plenty of cut in the ground so could be worth chancing at a decent price each-way in an open race on soft going.

Guroor (Wolverhampton, 5.10)

Guroor again posted a creditable effort in defeat earlier this week when narrowly beaten at the Midlands venue by a well-ridden rival.

She is clearly going in the right direction and this appears another good opportunity under conditions which suit the Lope De Vega filly. Connections will be keen to get a first victory on the cv and it looks a smart move by her handler to declare here as regular pilot Stefano Cherchi can take the ride.

Shepherd's Purse (Wolverhampton, 6.45)

The decision to equip Shepherd’s Purse with the first-time blinkers could be a smart move by trainer Ruth Carr who witnessed her charge run creditably at Newcastle last time.

He was a shade keen that day and there is always a chance the headgear may light him up even further, however this event looks destined to be run at a strong gallop and the selection boasts the best course speed figure in the field courtesy of his effort at Dunstall Park in May.
