Jason HartTop tipster Sam Turner is a regular on Racing TV and a proponent of speed figures and sectional timing. Here are his best bets for the day’s action

Sambucca Spirit (Southwell, 5.10)

There is every chance the son of Charm Spirit bumped into a smart rival two starts ago over course and distance in the shape of Hareem Queen (more of her later) and today’s return to the fibresand could see him break his maiden tag at the ninth time of asking.

A subsequent defeat on heavy ground at Catterick was still a highly creditable performance as the winner made all that day and bagged the stands’ side rail which proved to be smart tactic with conditions so deep.

Sambucca Spirit tried manfully to get on terms that day and it is worth noting the fifth-home Rockley Point was narrowly touched off in a competitive Newcastle handicap recently.

Hareem Queen (Southwell, 6.10)

Success for Sambucca Spirit would clearly highlight the chances of Hareem Queen who thumped him by four lengths in emphatic fashion when they met under today’s circumstances last month.

Karl Burke’s grey filly travelled sweetly throughout that day before being given the office a furlong from home and a mark of 78 may be doing her ability a disservice.

Stall one is a slight concern as I am a little concerned with her being forced to race on the wing, however her natural ability may allow her to overcome that inconvenience.

Al Erayg (Southwell, 7.10)

Thursday’s final selection boasts three of the top four figures on my speed ratings so his inclusion is pretty straightforward.

Remarkably, victory for Al Erayg over course and distance last week was the first try for the 6yo on a synthetic surface. He clearly took to it swimmingly, registering a smooth defeat of fibresand favourite Hammer Gun in another smart time.

With any luck he can build on that display and is well drawn to strike again under a 5lb penalty.

Sambucca Spirit (Southwell, 5.10) - 1pt win

Hareem Queen (Southwell, 6.10) - 2pt win

Al Erayg (Southwell, 7.10) - 2pt win
