Top tipster Sam Turner is a regular on Racing TV and a proponent of speed figures and sectional timing. Here are his best bets for the day’s action
On a quiet day, Rose Marmara stands out following a back-to-form performance in a better race over 7f here last Tuesday.
The victor Rux Ruxx was pinpointed by this column but the selection looked at one point as though she had made a winning move until nailed late on. Perhaps better on faster going and it could be argued over a furlong shorter, the run rates as a decent effort particularly as the mare was the outsider of the field.
Rose Marmara runs off 2lb lower this afternoon, drops two levels and, with a track record that reads 3-9 (two over course and distance), she looks worthy of support to gain a belated first win of the season.
Lady Alavesa has a fine record at the east Midlands venue with stats that read 211, the latest of those victories being recorded in October, 2018. She has won at Lingfield since (January) but hasn’t added to the tally and has now moved premises.
A first run for Michael Herrington was over an inadequate 7f. However, five days later and back to her optimum distance she almost rewarded backers but unfortunately narrowly failed in a dong-dong battle with a well backed favourite.
Today’s going is expected to much quicker but she’s won on Polytrack, takes a dive in class and, at last, is back at her favourite venue.
TODAY’S BEST BETS
