Sam Turner’s fine form continued yesterday with two winners from just two selections, including Mamoo W7-1.
Waqaas (Kempton, 8.00)
WAQAAS displayed a marked return to form from a slipping handicap mark when last seen over course and distance and could be a good value each-way play in an open race,
Initial double figure quotes about his chance make plenty of appeal as the selection drops markedly in class following his effort behind Brigham Young in a strongly-run handicap. The handicapper felt it was a modest effort as he dropped him 2lb but Waqaas may make him suffer for that generosity with a prominent showing at a nice price.
Final Legacy (Southwell, 2.05)
FINAL LEGACY has put together a sold profile over today’s course and distance in recent weeks and is fancied to gain compensation for an agonising defeat here last time. The selection was beaten by just a flared nostril two weeks ago in an exciting finish, with five horses separated by just a length at the line.
Derek Shaw has enjoyed a decent run of late with his sprinters and his representative looks nicely drawn down the middle to far side of the track to make an impact at a price which may have underestimated her chance somewhat.
