Sam Turner’s speed figures target three cracking televised races at Warwick and Kempton Park on Saturday.
Shan Blue (Warwick, 2.25)
SHAN BLUE represents connections that have won two of the last five renewals courtesy of Beakstown and Three Musketeers and it appears significant their six-year-old has been an intended runner all week, intimating this race has been a long-held objective.
A 20-length rout of some limited rivals at Southwell last time needs to be taken in context as this afternoon’s event represents a marked step up in class. However, the Irish point winner may well have won at Newbury on his penultimate start when knuckling on landing in the straight and he also demanded that Redford Road pull out all the stops to beat him in November.
A subsequent Grade 2 win at Cheltenham for his Wetherby conqueror has enhanced the form of that novices’ hurdle and there are reasons for believing that Shan Blue can find further improvement now that he steps back up in trip.

Notre Pari (Kempton, 2.40)
The step up to two-and-a-half-miles suited NOTRE PARI at Aintree and he may continue his progression here off an 8lb higher mark.
The extra test of stamina produced an emphatic win from the selection who still appeals as a well-handicapped and improving youngster. His two-mile cruising speed was seen to good effect on Merseyside and he should find today’s track to his liking now that his stamina under rules was proven so emphatically last time.

On The Blind Side (Kempton, 3.15)
ON THE BLIND SIDE bumped into a horse at Ascot last time in the shape of Riders Onthe Storm that is a 10-1 chance in some lists for the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham festival, so he may find these waters calmer today.
A good winner of a novice chase here 12 months ago, it has been a long time between drinks for the selection but he may enjoy a class edge over today’s rivals.
Although On The Blind Side has struggled for victories in the intervening months, his speed figures still entitle him to go close here and he may be the type who is better conceding weight to inferior rivals rather than running at a higher level at the foot of the handicap.
