1.25pm Southwell – Win 1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap

Craig Lidster’s CROWN’S LADY was just touched off by a nose at Southwell last week and the three-year-old will look to go one better on Thursday in the 1:25pm. She lines up off the same mark of 63 in this week’s contest, so is entitled to be on the vicinity. A previous winner at the track back in August off a mark of 61, Crown’s Lady will face some in-form rivals in the shape of Novak and Wilde And Dandy, who both won last time out, but it’s the Lidster raider that can prevail here.

2.00pm Southwell – Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Nursery

Second on her nursery debut at Newcastle last month, Archie Watson’s DEL RAY will look to go one better when lining up in the 2:00pm at Southwell on Thursday afternoon. Beaten by a neck that day off a mark of 78, the daughter of Kameko will line up off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell, so is entitled to go very close. A winner on debut, she has shown decent consistency on the track and she can continue her progression by landing this trappy prize.

2.35pm Southwell – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Restricted Maiden Stakes

KODI FIRE has shown some ability in his three starts to date, but the drop back to six furlongs could be the making of the Charles Hills-trained son of Kodi Bear, who can break his maiden tag in the 2.35pm at Southwell. He was out in front for a long way over seven furlongs last time out, but was reeled in by a few of his rivals that day to finish fifth. Dropping back a furlong on Thursday, he could well lead them a merry dance in this event, with the likes of Midnight City and Addison Grey looking the big adversaries.

3.10pm Southwell – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Fillies’ Handicap

George Boughey’s UNASSUMING has a perfect two from two record at Southwell and the four-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega can land the hat-trick at 3:10pm. She won two races in the space of a few days at the end of September, but failed to follow up next time out when fifth at Wolverhampton. A return to Southwell could be the key to unlocking more improvement, and while she is a whopping 12lbs higher in the ratings she showed she excels over the surface and looks capable of defying a mark of 75.

3.45pm Southwell – Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Handicap

We finish the afternoon card with a competitive-looking 1m 13y contest and the value play is the Dominic Ffrench-Davis-trained IMOLA, who is worth taking a chance on at the bottom of the weights. Winless in ten starts, she has been placed on a few occasions and she’s been dropped 2lbs by the handicapper for a recent fourth placed finish at Nottingham off 59. Taking her chance off 57 for this finale, she will have cheekpieces on for the first time, which could bring about the improvement to break her maiden tag.
