Spain vs Germany Tips

Tip #1 – Spain to win in 90 minutes @ 7/4

After cruising through the group stages with three wins out of three, Spain were exquisite in their last-16 mauling of Georgia, as having fallen behind in the first half, the Spaniards found their way again and sauntered to a 4-1 win.

Unleashing a whopping 35 shots during the 90 minutes, with 13 of those on target, Georgia were fortunate to keep it at four and while Germany will have home advantage they have looked shaky at times at the back. Conceding against Scotland and Switzerland during the group stages, Julian Nagelsmann’s side then struggled at times against Denmark, who had a goal disallowed.

They may have some superb attacking talent, but it’s hard to not see Spain knocking out the hosts with their brilliant dominance on the ball and with them sure to be unleashing countless shots then it could be a game that just sees Spain score more than Germany, so the 7/4 about a Spanish win looks a solid bet.

Tip #2 – Lamine Yamal to score first @ 10/1

One of the stars of Euro 2024 has been the 16-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal, who has taken everything in his stride during the competition and he could be the matchwinner on Friday, as he can help Spain book their place in the semi-finals.

A revelation for Barcelona this campaign, Yamal has been a real handful throughout the competition and in the four matches to date he’s assisted two goals and had 11 attempts on goal. He’s yet to hit the back of the net yet, but he exudes confidence on a football pitch and Germany may not be able to stop him from opening the scoring and with double-figured odds about then he’s worth backing to break the deadlock.

Spain Performances So Far

A perfect four wins from four matches, Spain have arguably been the best team in the tournament to date and it’s only their pathway to the final (possible semi-final clash with France or Portugal) that doesn’t make them favourite for the tournament.

An impressive 3-0 win over Spain in their first Group B match was then followed by a solid 1-0 win over Italy, while they ended their qualification campaign with a 1-0 win over Albania. But, it was their 4-1 demolition over Georgia that really showed their qualities in attack and they are looking to emulate that display again on Friday.

Germany Performances So Far

Germany flew out of the traps in Euro 2024, as they whacked a woeful Scottish side 5-1, while they booked their place in the knockout stages with another impressive win over Hungary, who they beat 2-0. However, things got a bit tougher and they will continue to get tougher, should they progress in the tournament.

A workmanlike 1-1 draw with Switzerland set up a last-16 clash with Denmark, where they were expected to win comfortably. The Danes troubled the Germans and took the lead, but Joachim Anderson’s goal was ruled offside. Goals from Kai Havertz and the impressive Jamal Musiala secured the 2-0 win, but for an hour Germany weren’t at their best, so will need to improve for Spain.

Wednesday 19th June – Germany 2-0 Hungary

Sunday 23rd June – Switzerland 1-1 Germany

Saturday 29th June – Germany 2-0 Denmark
