Comments:

Arty Campbell, Man Look - A very competitive handicap hurdle and I like the look of these two outsiders. Arty Campbell was a cosy winner at Wincanton the last day and a hefty 9lb rise sees him contest this better race off a nice weight and he could go well back at two miles. Man Look is getting it together with front-running tactics and he could get the run of things. If his jumping holds up, he may still be bang there at the last given his ability to stay further coupled with his flat speed.

Exitas - Festive Affair and Bright New Dawn both have E/w appeal and Kapstadt is a legitimate threat, but I have to stay on side with Phil Middleton’s in-form 9yo. James Bowen takes his racing weight down to 10st 9lb here and the pair look set to give the trainer his first Cheltenham winner on the back of a cosy success at Ascot. He is reported to be bouncing at home and I’m hoping his experience over fences will count for a lot, particularly with Kapstadt having course form over hurdles, but only two chase starts to date.

William Henry - Finian's Oscar may well be a superstar over fences and is the rightful favourite, but he will be tested today and to me, William Henry has long looked a smashing chaser in the making. His schooling is reported to be going very well and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t make a very bright start. Movewiththetimes could well improve from his debut, but I’m not sure about him at this extended 2m4f trip.

Callet Mad/On The Bright Side - I like the reverse forecast here. Callet Mad stays well and will try to make all, On The Blind Side should have a little too much class for the penalised Poetic Rhythm and Vision Des Flos, who probably needs more time. Momella hasn’t done much on the clock, I’m hopeful she’ll be exposed in this company.
