Leg 1: 1.50pm – Sky Bet Extra Places Every Day Handicap

Leg 1 Selections: (6) Spanish Blaze

Marcus Tregoning’s SPANISH BLAZE was a winner at Sandown back in June off a mark of 80 and the consistent three-year-old will attempt to taste more success at the track in the opening race at 1:50pm. He’s 7lbs higher in the handicap for this contest, but ran a decent race off his current mark of 87 last time out when fifth at Newbury. This is a trappy contest, but have showed he can deliver the goods at the track then he has to be a leading player.

Leg 2: 2.25pm – Sky Bet Atalanta Stakes

Leg 2 Selections: (9) Tamfana

Fourth in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket at the start of the season, TAMFANA has continued to run big races in Group 1 company and was last seen finishing fourth in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp. Taking a huge step down in class on Saturday for the Group 3 Atalanta Stakes at 2:25pm, the David Menuisier-trained daughter of Soldier Hollow should have far too much class for her rivals here.

Leg 3: 3.00pm – Sky Bet For The Fans Handicap

Leg 3 Selections: (2) Involvement

A winner of a competitive Newmarket handicap two starts ago, Simon & Ed Crisford’s INVOLVEMENT failed to follow up in a Listed event in France next time out. However, a return to British soil and a drop back into handicap company should see the three-year-old son of Lope De Vega return to winning ways. The Britannia Stakes seventh is 6lbs higher than that Newmarket winning mark, but he was a taking winner that day and he can get the better of Balmacara here.

Leg 4: 3.35pm – Sky Bet Solario Stakes

Leg 4 Selections: (4) Matauri Bay

A fascinating renewal of the Group 3 Solario Stakes at 3:35pm, as some emerging youngsters look to show they are Group quality in the 7f event. Ralph Beckett’s MATAURI BAY has only been seen on the track once, but was very impressive when winning at Leicester novice stakes in style. Taking a huge step up here, the expensive 500,000gns purchase is entitled to kick on significantly for that run and while Field Of Gold and Royal Playwright are eye-catching runners, the Beckett charge could be the way to go.

Leg 5: 4.10pm – Tattersalls 40,000 EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes

Leg 5 Selections: (5) Rockin’ The Boat

A race full of imponderables with some making their debut and some more experienced contenders lining up. The once raced ROCKIN’ THE BOAT finished third on debut for David Menuisier at Newmarket and that is smart form with the first and second that day holding entries in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile later in the season. Beaten four lengths that day, she’s entitled to improve significantly for that experience and could well land this event.

Leg 6: 4.45pm – Sky Bet Acca Freeze Nursery

Leg 6 Selections: (7) New Bombay

Andrew Balding’s NEW BOMBAY broke her maiden tag at the fourth time of asking when winning a nursery at Chester off a mark of 68. The New Bay colt then followed that up with a decent second placed finish at Wolverhampton and he looks to have more progression in him. This will be tougher as he lines up off 78, but his experience could be a huge positive and with Balding sure to build on those recent runs then he could be a solid bet to place in the final race of the Tote Placepot.
