Paul Nicholls has a good record with his horses returning from wind surgery, scoring with eight of the 25 qualifiers (32% strike-rate) for a profit of £15.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who raced over 2m4f or shorter won eight of their 14 starts, recording form figures of 26111111144152 for a profit of £26.25.
Nicholls has two qualifiers on Friday – stable debutant MY WAY, who goes in the Grade 2 Ballymore Winter Novices’ Hurdle at Sandown (2.25), and TOPOFTHEGAME, who makes his chase debut in the Heavitree Brewery PLC Novices’ Chase at Exeter (2.35).
My Way was last seen running second to leading French filly Whetstone at Auteuil in March, form that has receibed several boosts, and Topofthegame was a neck second in the Coral Cup on his latest outing. The last-named will appreciate the stiff right-handed track, having won at Ascot and Sandown previously.
My Way – Sandown 2.25 (1pt win, 9-4 generally)
Topofthegame – Exeter 2.35 (1pt win, 3-1 generally)
Topofthegame is part of GG's Tasty Treble for Friday.
