Wolverhampton Tips: Selections For Tuesday 18th February, 2025

A bumper nine race card will take place at Wolverhampton on the all-weather on Tuesday 18th February and there looks some competitive races for punters to work out. BetMGM sponsor five of the races and we pick out a selection for each of those races, as we look to point you in the right direction of a few winners.

4.55pm Wolverhampton – Win 1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap (Div 1)

George Boughey’s WATKINS has failed to hit the back of the net yet during his career, but he could improve for the visor on Tuesday and can land victory in the 4.55pm race. The three-year-old Due Diligence gelding was seventh of eight last time out, but he’s been dropped 2lbs to a mark of 60 and he could be capable making the most of that with a win here. There’s limited opposition that make any appeal here, so Watkins is one of those that could improve and is the tentative selection.

5.30pm Wolverhampton – Win 1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap (Div 2)

Mick Appleby’s KALEIDOSCOPE EYES was an impressive two-and-a-half length victory at Wolverhampton two starts ago and despite having 6lbs more to carry on Tuesday for the 5.30pm contest he looks more than capable of going again. He ran a decent race off his new mark of 59 last time out when finishing fourth and with plenty of rivals lining up without a win on their CV then Appleby’s raider looks the solid option here.

7.00pm Wolverhampton – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Handicap

Hugo Palmer’s SWEET FANTASTIC broke his maiden tag at the fifth time of asking last time out when winning at Kempton and the flourishing three-year-old can make it two victories on the bounce in the 7.00pm contest. Given a 4lbs rise for that recent victory, he will have the benefit of Liam Wright taking 5lbs of his back in this event, so he’s attractively handicapped to go very close again. The likes of City Of God and Master Technician will be two big dangers and are in decent form, but it’s the Palmer raider that can get his head in front again.

8.00pm Wolverhampton – BetMGM: Its Showtime Handicap

Tony Carroll’s CELEBRATING ETHEL has been knocking on the door of late having finished second on her last two outings at Wolverhampton. The six-year-old daughter of Gleneagles has been given a 1lb rise by the handicapper for that recent run, but a mark of 58 still looks workable. She does only have one win in 25 outings, so isn’t one to trust too much, but she is in decent form and can get the better of Mr Fustic and Charlatan, who should play primary roles here.

8.30pm Wolverhampton – Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Handicap

James Owen’s High Court Judge has been in spectacular form of late racking up five wins on the bounce and the red-hot five-year-old is well fancied to land the six-timer here and off top weight is the one to beat. However, he’s likely to be relatively short in the betting, so it’s worth taking him on with CERULEAN SUMMER for Dylan Cunha and Morgan Cole. A dual course winner, the four-year-old is 4lbs higher than her last winning mark, but with the aforementioned Cole taking a handy 5lbs off then she could be more than capable of putting up a challenge to High Court Judge in the final race of the evening.
