Wolverhampton Tips – Through The Card Picks For Saturday 14th December 2024

A gargantuan nine races will take place at Wolverhampton on Saturday 14th December and BetMGM are sponsoring a number of contests on the card. We’ve given our in-house tipster Steve Chambers the task of picking a winner in each of the BetMGM sponsored races in what is a competitive late afternoon, early evening fixture.

4.30pm Wolverhampton – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Fillies’ Handicap

The Alice Haynes-trained MORE THAN A FEELIN has been in the form of her life notching up wins at Kempton and Wolverhampton and the daughter of Sea The Stars can land the hat-trick back at Wolves for the opening race at 4:30pm. She was given a 4lbs rise for a one-and-a-half length success last time out, so a mark of 75 is going to test here, but she looks more than capable of dealing with that hike and can bound to success here.

5.00pm Wolverhampton – Win 1M With Bet MGM’s Golden Goals ‘Confined’ Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes

Sixth on debut at Redcar, Charlie Johnston’s SPIRIT OF JURA took a massive step forward when second at Wolverhampton last month and the Masar filly can go one better on Saturday and claim the win in the 5.00pm. Entitled to kick on again for that recent runner-up finish, Spirit Of Jura will line up over the same course and distance this weekend and can get the better of Pave The Way, who has also shown positive signs on a racecourse for Eve Johnson Houghton.

5.30pm Wolverhampton – BetMGM: It’s Showtime Novice ‘Confined’ Restricted Novice Stakes 

Just touched off by a neck at Southwell on his racecourse debut last month, TROUBLE MAN will be looking to build on that effort for Jane Chapple-Hyam in the 5:30pm contest. The son of Profitable was headed in the closing stages of that event, so a drop back to five furlongs for this event from six won’t be a real issue and having shown some decent pace on his first start then he can break his maiden tag here.

6.30pm Wolverhampton – Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Fillies’ Handicap

This contest all revolves around the hat-trick-seeking Lady Wingalong, who could prove too good for her rivals and duly lands a third win on the bounce, but the value play against the likely market leader is Amy Murphy’s MISS SUNSET STRIP. Well beaten by Lady Wingalong last time out, she was badly hampered that day and ended up finishing way back in 11th. Now 6lbs better off than Lady Wingalong she’s entitled to get closer to the David Evans-trained rival and if she can get a clear run then has to stand a chance.

7.30pm Wolverhampton – Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Handicap (Div 1)

James Owen’s TENYATTA was an excellent second at Southwell last time out and the bottom weight can use that run as a springboard to success in the 7.30pm contest. A previous winner at Wolverhampton, she’s now 1lb lower in the handicap than that aforementioned victory at the track, so if she can replicate that performance then she’s the tentative selection in a really trappy betting heat.

8.00pm Wolverhampton – Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Handicap (Div 2)

Winless after 12 starts, Ruth Carr’s RETRACTION has certainly shown glimmers of positivity during his career and he can finally get his name in the lights on Saturday in the 8.00pm race. He was staying on well in the closing stages when finishing third at Wolves on his last outing and he lines up off the same mark of 58 here. He will need everything to go right for him to land the win, but there’s limited in-form opposition, so you have to fancy he can make the frame at the very least.
