4.40 Wolverhampton – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap
The two to focus on are Urban Road and YEOMAN, and though the former won last week at Newcastle, the amateur who rode him that day has jumped ship to the selection here. James Fanshawe’s charge has not won since September 2023, but in five runs over course and distance since the autumn, he has form figures of 52334 and is on his lowest mark since his handicap debut here. Though far from a winning machine, he has got a good opportunity here.
6.15 Wolverhampton – Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Novice Stakes
Godolphin runner Daring Flight could step forward to make things interesting, while Political Power made a promising start for his new connections last week, but debut winner THE WATCHER is difficult to oppose. The son of Invincible Spirit was well-supported for his first start, going off an Evens favourite despite facing a rival who had already won on his own debut. He scored by a length and a half, readily justifying that support and should have enough ability to win again under a penalty here.
6.45 Wolverhampton – Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Handicap
His form on Tapeta surfaces since November reads 11161, making OVERNIGHT OATS difficult to oppose while continuing his progression. That sixth-placed effort came over 1m1½f, which may have proven too far, and two defeats between that run and a win at Southwell last week were on Polytrack. However, that Southwell success suggested he has far from finished improving and another victory is on the cards despite a 6lb rise.
7.15 Wolverhampton – Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Classified Stakes (Div I)
Headshot won an identical contest to this 11 days ago, but that was slightly out of the blue and races of this level are primed for variance. The answer here could be QUICK AWAY, who was fourth in his first Classified stakes race at Southwell last month when doing his best work late. Rossa Ryan is booked, which looks a positive move by his yard, and this contest may be even weaker than the last one he faced.
7.45 Wolverhampton – Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Classified Stakes (Div II)
Preference is for VECCHIO, as a five-year-old dropping in class to this level for the first time. His last run aside, he was at least running respectably in handicaps off marks in the 50s, producing efforts which would usually be good enough to win a race of this nature. Last-time-out winner Dash Power is feared, but might bump into a more streetwise rival than he has been racing against of late.
