Form & Verdict

Irish raider who stayed on well to win on his hurdle debut at Galway (2m3f, soft) and did likewise when landing a Grade 2 here (2m5f, good) last month; now penalised and 5lb worse off with runner-up Gelino Bello for two and a half lengths, but he shapes as though he'll relish the step up to 3m.

Won two Grade 2 novice hurdles here in late 2021, including over C&D when readily beating subsequent Grade 1 winner Gelino Bello; made it 4-4 over hurdles (on ground from soft-good) when defying 428-day layoff in the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle at Navan last month; has reportedly had a setback since and the bounce factor is a concern on this second run back from a long absence, but here's a lot to like otherwise; has the potential to be a major player.

Form & Verdict

Bumper winner (2m1f, soft) who impressed on hurdle debut at Aintree (2m4f, good) in October and again ran well when second to Blazing Khal in Grade 2 here (2m5f, good) last month; up in trip today and there's a suspicion the reopposing winner has greater staying potential, but this fellow is 5lb better off and there's every chance he'll stay 3m; big player if he does.

The stable second string today by all accounts but he was a Grade 1 winner at this trip over hurdles last season and he's gone 2-2 over fences; will need to smarten up his jumping in this company but the potential is there; dangerous to dismiss; good to soft and soft is fine.

Solid novice hurdling campaign ended with a Grade 1 win at Aintree (3m, good to soft); the bare form of his chase debut success at Wetherby (3m) isn't so compelling; however, should have more to offer.

Won three Irish points in a row in May (3m, on good to yielding and yielding to soft); thrown in at the deep end for his rules debut but he's joined a top yard and is not ruled out.

Fourth in a 3m Grade 1 novice hurdle at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival; there have been some bumps in the road since his successful chase debut the following season but he's been back in good form this year and ran well for a long way before the 4m stretched him in the Scottish National; leading player if fully recovered from those exertions.

Acts on soft; fourth in the 3m Grade 1 novice hurdle at 2022 Cheltenham Festival; mostly chasing since and failed to beat a rival in four runs in 2023 but he's been working his way back to form in his two runs this year, second at Sandown (3m) latest; back up 3lb but going beyond 3m1f for the first time is an attractive move.

Form & Verdict

Won her first two hurdle starts (2m/2m5f, good) and solid third in Grade 2 here (2m5f, good) last month; won two 3m points (yielding) but was left behind up the hill by Blazing Khal and Gelino Bello last time so those rivals look to have her measure.

Did quite well to finish third in a novice chase last month having made a bad jumping error, but has been well below her best over hurdles this season and others have more persuasive profiles.

Not seen over fences since respectable fourth in much stronger race than this on chasing debut at Ffos Las in December 2022 and, following a long absence, has not been at her best in three Class 3 handicap hurdles this year; however, she can't be ignored on these more favourable terms.

Irish maiden point winner (3m, good) who was a close second of four at Newcastle (2m6f, good to soft) on rules debut a fortnight ago; that was a highly creditable performance in a warm little race and there can be optimism he'll improve, but others here have achieved considerably more.

Point runner-up (3m, soft to heavy) who was third in his sole bumper (2m, good) and bolted up on hurdle debut at Lingfield (2m3f, soft) in October; faces much tougher opposition today but it remains to be seen where his limitations lie; respected.

Looked very good when winning at Lingfield (2m3f, soft) in October 2021; unable to reproduce that promise since but his recent 14l third at Bangor (2m3f, good to soft) wasn't devoid of promise and this longer trip may be a plus; continues to drop down the weights and he's an each-way possible.
