Form & Verdict

Dual course winner last season (2m4f/2m5f); didn't really take to chasing in the autumn (two attempts) but, with cheekpieces added, was placed over hurdles at Taunton (3m, good to soft) in December; 1lb lower today and the return to this track is an obvious plus.

Form figures 22111 at this track in a bumper and over hurdles (latest win on soft); struggled over fences to begin with last season (two attempts) but did well with cheekpieces back over hurdles and went down by a neck at Exeter last month when having another go at chasing; taking the final fence slowly probably cost him in the latter and he has more to offer.

Struggled over fences to begin with last season (just two attempts) but with cheekpieces fitted he did well when returned to hurdles, defying a 4lb higher mark at Wincanton in February (2m5f, soft; handles good); stays 3m and if he fancies another crack at this discipline he's handicapped to go well.

Teenager who has mixed hurdling with chasing in recent seasons; bounced back to form to spring 40-1 surprise over C&D (soft; made all) last month and also ran well when third here (3m, good to soft) 12 days later but will probably find younger rivals better handicapped today.

Front-running veteran who proved suited by the switch back to hurdling last term, including for a 2m5f win under 5lb claimer here and he also ran well here on next two outings; stamina isn't a problem and he goes well in the mud; his reappearance this time round was better than in the previous two seasons and he could have a say if that run has helped to put him right.

Form & Verdict

Generally disappointing since Grade 2 novice win for Colin Tizzard in 2019 but, having dropped down the weights, he put in good front-running shift when back over hurdles at Taunton (2m3f, good to soft; finished second) last month; still on a good mark here; can't be ruled out.

Dual novice winner last winter and made pleasing seasonal/handicap debut when second at Haydock (2m3f, soft) in December; never travelling after an early jumping error at Ascot last month but can play a significant role here if all goes to plan.

Bounced back quickly from a disappointing run (in cheekpieces) to open chasing account in first-time blinkers at Wincanton (3m1f, good to soft) last month; not one to rely upon heavily but recent 4lb rise ought to be manageable if he responds well to a first-time visor.

In good form last spring and returned from break with career-best effort in October, finishing well for narrow win at Uttoxeter (2m7f, good); off for another four months since and today's 4lb higher mark demands even more, but he should be fine on soft ground.
