Form & Verdict

Very smart on his day; began 2021 with two easy Group 3 wins at Newbury (1m4f, good/good to soft) before going down by only a neck in the Coronation Cup at Epsom (1m4f, good to soft); his campaign ended in anticlimax with two odds-on defeats and a sound beating in the Champion Stakes here, but he's clearly the one to beat if back on song after a break; usually delivered late.

Sole run last year was a C&D Listed win; held up this season with his summer wins in a Listed race at Newbury and Group 3 at Haydock both at about 1m2f, but he ran on strongly to close to half a length in Group 3 at Leopardstown four weeks ago when returned to 1m4f; major claims.

Form & Verdict

Lightly raced 4yo; won first two races and showed useful form when second in Group 3 at Newmarket (1m5f, good to firm) last July; his progress stalled when beaten 11l in 1m6f Listed race here on good to soft ground in the autumn, but he's had wind surgery since and remains unexposed; not ruled out.

Form & Verdict

Won the Lingfield Derby Trial (11.6f) last May from subsequent Derby hero Adayar and he bounced back to form when fourth in the Group 2 Prix Dollar at Longchamp (1m2f) on his final 3yo start; both those runs came in the mud, and any rain will suit this colt who may have more to offer this season.

Last season wasn't all plain sailing but his third of five in Group 3 over C&D last July was creditable, as was his reappearance two weeks ago in Listed race at Ascot; he looks the one most likely to profit if Lone Eagle returns below par.

High point of 3yo campaign came when third in the Queen's Vase on this course (1m6f, good to firm), and he bettered that when third in Group 3 at Newbury (1m4f, good; 8-1) on his reappearance three weeks ago; still lightly raced and likely to be thereabouts with race fitness on his side.

Only seen sporadically in recent times and is now with his third yard, having run poorly in two starts for George Boughey; pulled hard when finishing last back from a break five weeks ago and it's hard to build up much enthusiasm.

Third in the 1m6f Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot in 2021 but seen mostly over 1m4f since, running with credit in defeat last term for the Gosdens; had wind and gelding operations before his debut for this stable in October and shaped better than last in that Listed race might suggest; not entirely dismissed.

Form & Verdict

Has won six of his 12 races, most recently a Listed event at Newmarket (1m4f, good to firm) in June 2020; not seen since well below par in September of that year; today's conditions will be fine but he has something to prove after such a long absence; tends to be patiently ridden.

Has improved with each of her seven runs, seeming suited by the step up to 1m4f when winning handicaps at Salisbury and Newmarket (both on good) in the second half of 2021; this reappearance represents her stiffest task to date but she's open to further improvement and impossible to discount.

Form & Verdict

Three wins at up to 1m2f for David Elsworth last year; faded when close seventh in handicap at Kempton on reappearance 19 days ago; may well come on for that run and she should stay 1m4f, but she'll need a career best, and by some way, if she's to resume winning ways in this higher grade.
