Runner-up twice in Listed company since joining this yard but he bettered even those efforts when an excellent third of 29 in the Royal Hunt Cup over C&D (good to firm) last month, keeping on well despite hanging right; a 2lb nudge won't prevent him being very competitive if in similar form.

Ran respectably behind a few of these rivals over C&D two starts ago but is likely set for another supporting role; the oldest contestant and losing spell goes back to summer 2022.

Didn't prove up to the very stiff competition of the 2,000 Guineas and Jersey Stakes but he got his career back on track with his sights lowered when shading a tight finish in 7f Haydock handicap (soft) three weeks ago; didn't do a great deal on hitting the front and has first-time cheekpieces on now; any rain would be in his favour.

Beaten only a neck in the 20-runner Kensington Palace Handicap on the round course at the Royal meeting and backed it up when edging ahead where it matters in a C&D fillies' handicap (good to firm) 14 days ago; will need another career best to follow up off 4lb higher but that's far from out of the question given her largely progressive profile.

Others have stronger form than this 5yo, who was below par in the Group 2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood (soft) last time; however, she's had a fine season and made all in the Group 3 Valiant Stakes at Ascot (1m, good to soft) two starts ago; also effective on good/good to firm; this course often favours prominent-racers and it will be no surprise to see a bold bid.

Won a big-field handicap at the Curragh (1m, good) last August; not in the same form this year but he wasn't disgraced when eighth (Tempus third) of 29 in the Royal Hunt Cup over C&D last time (final run for Jessica Harrington); sold for 80,000gns this month and has joined a yard with a good record with new recruits.

Below best the last twice on first two AW starts but the return to turf could be a plus and he has an excellent record on the two Newmarket courses, winning this last year (good to soft) and finishing fourth in the Cambridgeshire (1m1f, good to firm) last September; could play a leading role.

Bumped into subsequent Royal Hunt Cup winner Dark Shift when second at Nottingham on his British return and built on that when posting a career-best RPR to get up on the line at Salisbury (1m, good to firm) a month ago; 5lb rise demands a bit more again.

Largely progressive at two and three; however, hasn't done quite so well this year and his July success (7f, soft) came in a lower grade, sharing the spoils; balance of 2023 form suggests he'll come up well short.

Has done a lot of his racing at 1m but dropping back to 7f was no issue when dead-heating on soft ground at Doncaster two starts back (second run in cheekpieces); fine under these conditions and remains on a workable mark if able to bounce back from a poor one at Chepstow.

Progressive bar a blip over 7f here in May, running a cracker with blinkers and a tongue-tie added (both retained today) when finding the line coming just too soon in the Britannia over C&D (good to firm) at last month's Royal meeting; the early indications are that the form of that race is typically strong; every chance he can deal with an 8lb rise, particularly as a fair chunk of it is offset by Benoit De La Sayette's claim.

4yo who is in top hands and has raced 12 times; two of his very best performances have come in big-field handicaps, when going close in last year's Britannia (1m, good to firm) at Royal Ascot and when a head second of 17 over C&D in May (good to soft; denied a clear run); interesting given this ideal scenario; blinkers refitted in place of first-time cheekpieces.

Sole win came in a maiden as 2yo; went very close at Royal Ascot in 2022 (1m) and at Newmarket Guineas meeting this year (1m1f) and he fared easily the best of all five in this field when back at Royal Ascot (1m2f) on latest outing, coming a creditable fifth of 16 in Listed race; tried cheekpieces on last two starts but former blinkers now return; those peak efforts were in large fields when ridden by Frankie Dettori, whereas overall record is mixed, so the issue is not as clearcut as the Ascot result might suggest.

Course winner as 2yo; went very close from off the pace in the Britannia at last year's Royal meeting (1m, good to firm) and underlined what a talented performer he is on his day when narrowly denied by King Of Conquest in 1m1f Newmarket handicap (good to soft; first-time cheekpieces, retained) on reappearance; arguably a little unfortunate having had to wait for a run and that reopposing rival (who meets him on 3lb worse terms now) has boosted the form since; slightly mixed overall record but he hasn't finished out of the first two when partnered by Dettori and is capable of a big run.
