Form & Verdict

Major new high when winning from Farhan in a valuable 3yo handicap at Newmarket (1m4f, good to soft) last October; the one to beat judged on that display and while he has not repeated that high-class form, he easily won a 1m6f Listed race at Meydan in January and was a respectable third in Saudi Arabia in February; last Saturday's run in Newbury Group 3 was the big disappointment, admittedly after 203 days off but connections now reach for headgear.

Form & Verdict

Made all in a four-runner race for this prize last year; reliable this term and has won over 1m6f at York in a Listed race and Group 3 on last two starts, both again in small fields; giving weight all round under today's penalty demands a career best.

Form & Verdict

Can front-run; returned from a break with a Listed win at Sandown (1m2f) in July; his form can be up and down and he was well beaten in Haydock Group 3 on latest outing; stamina does not look a problem and he has a shout on his best form; more to prove if the ground is firmer than good.

Form & Verdict

Raised his game last autumn and did so again, in a major way, when coming from off pace to run away with 1m4f handicap at Royal Ascot (good to firm) on return, storming clear; has a chance on that but only mid-division in good 1m6f handicaps (Ebor on latest) in his two starts since, looking below form and not just stretched by that longer trip.

Suited by 1m4f; creditable fourth of six in this race last year; hit new heights on latest two starts, winning a six-runner Listed event at Windsor (Lion's Pride a close third) and second of seven in Group 3 at Kempton; gives weight all round but has the form to be taken seriously.

Record around here reads 313, the win coming over this trip as a 3yo; returned to winning form in a Windsor Listed event (11.4f, good to firm) a fortnight ago and although more will be needed to take this, he can't be dismissed entirely back here; stable won this with Hamish two years ago.

On a losing run of seven since running away with a 1m4f handicap at last year's Royal Ascot; since placed at Listed/Group 3 level, so no doubt he'll bag one of these sooner or later, and softening ground was against him last time at Goodwood.

Form & Verdict

Very consistent over 1m4f in Group races and handicaps this year and also ran creditably when ninth of 20 in the Ebor at York five weeks ago on his return to 1m6f; reliable each-way candidate.

Won weak 1m4f Group 2 at Meydan on reappearance, able to dictate from the back straight; placed in this race last year and in a Group 2 on the other Newmarket course this May on latest outing, both behind a much shorter-priced stablemate and the same fate seems to await him today.

Form & Verdict

Won on heavy as 2yo and has done well this term on good and good to firm; gamely asserted for clearcut wins over 1m4f at Ascot in May and July, which is respected handicap form, but he did not fire in the York handicap won by Farhan last time; has since left this season's trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy (remains with the same owner); has bounced back before.
