Form & Verdict

Useful 1m/1m2f winner; jumping has improved with experience over hurdles and, after cantering home at Leicester, (good to soft) he came from off the pace to finish within 3l of talented Irish raider Comfort Zone in a Grade 2 at Chepstow (soft); that's cast-iron form and he's the one to beat; cheekpieces are a first over hurdles (worn once on the Flat in a novice).

Good juvenile last season in these colours for Gary Moore and also placed twice on AW Flat for Owen Burrows in the autumn; no better than sixth in two heavy-ground runs this campaign but today's conditions should be more to his liking; off a reduced mark he's considered.

Smart juvenile hurdler in these colours for Gary Moore last season; also placed twice on AW Flat for Owen Burrows in the autumn and might have needed it when last of six back hurdling for another new stable at Newbury a fortnight ago; needs to have come on a fair bit in a short time but his yard has been among the winners in recent days.

1m2f winner for David O'Meara and was bought for 47,000gns to go jumping; did well to overcome a late mistake and run down Chaos Control at Kempton (soft) but now has to concede 8lb to that rival, and there are others to worry about.

Triple hurdle winner at up to 2m3f, including on soft, the latest at Taunton in December; the handicapper has had his measure in two more competitive races since but drops in grade and that could be the key to a revival.

Proved suited by the step up to 2m3f at Taunton (good to soft) in December, running on well; rather disappointing in the Lanzarote over C&D since but still isn't fully exposed beyond 2m; not written off.

Could have been 2-2 had he not run out late on at Ffos Las; the horse he beat narrowly here last time is now exposed and he has a lot to find on the figures at this loftier level, but it is still early days at least; entitled to progress.

Inferior to most of these on the Flat; won well at Market Rasen (good to soft) but couldn't lay a glove on Start In Front at Wetherby (soft) and he looks vulnerable at this level.

Form & Verdict

Quite useful on the Flat for Karl Burke; hurdling inexperience all too evident when well behind Perseus Way at Leicester but the hood aided his focus when winning easily at Fontwell (good to soft); wouldn't be a surprise to see him have some say.

Dual 1m winner in Ireland and won a 1m4f AW handicap in November on his debut for this yard; never far away when runner-up on his switch to hurdling at Kempton, only succumbing late on to Samuel Spade; good chance of gaining his revenge with that rival now he's 8lb better off; respected.

Won a juvenile hurdle in early 2023 and was placed off mark 1lb higher than today's in Uttoxeter handicap (2m4f, good) last summer; ought to have been more competitive at Cheltenham on latest hurdling start in October, though, and returned from break with underwhelming Flat run last month.

Form & Verdict

Placed at Listed level on the Flat in France where he was beaten four times over hurdles; produced a very taking display on his first run for this yard when making pretty much all the running at Wetherby (soft; beat Casi Crudo by 7l); trainer was complimentary afterwards; looks useful.

Won here (2m, soft) last season and back on the scoresheet at Market Rasen (2m, soft) in December; well beaten at Haydock (2m3f, heavy) last time and remains unproven at today's sort of trip, but perhaps the very testing ground was too much and this 5yo is not written off.

Racing from out of the weights in an 0-140 was more the issue than the eight-month absence (has defied similar) at Wetherby latest (2m, heavy); player with easier grade, the ground and lower mark all positives.
