Down the field when favourite on debut on the AW but made amends at Wetherby (2m, soft) next time; well beaten under a penalty at Ayr on her latest start and looks vulnerable in that respect again.

Cloudings mare; dam, a French 2m1f hurdle winner, is a half-sister to the dam of three French Listed chase winners; last-fence faller (close up) and second in two Irish points; subsequently bought for £35,000; jockey bookings suggest she is the better fancied of two stable newcomers.

Shaped with promise when well backed at Hereford (stayed on for fifth) on her debut in January and she built on that when a rallying second at Musselburgh (1m7f, good to soft) 17 days ago; looks interesting on that effort and she's open to more progress.

Verdict

Having shaped well on her debut at Ayr, it would be no surprise to see Touch Of A Dragon go close. However, it might be worth taking a chance with one of the newcomers to racing under rules and the best of them may be NORTHERN REEL and On Cloud Nine, in that order. The selection cost £38,000 after winning a point and might be good enough to make a winning start. Others to consider in an interesting bumper are Scarlet O’Tara and Tintagel Queen. [Keith McHugh]
