Form & Verdict

Front-runner who completed Group-race hat-trick with easy win in Group 2 Lonsdale Cup here (2m, good) last August; not at very best on either run this year but it wasn't a bad run when 3l fourth of six in the Yorkshire Cup over C&D (good to firm) last month and he could build on that; key player.

A fine sight bowling along up front and he totally gave his rivals the slip when a runaway winner under Tom Marquand in the Goodwood Cup (good to soft) last August; used to go well in the mud over shorter distances in 2021, but has had two failures on it at Longchamp since; absent since another modest show at York last August; big shout if he's back on song for this.

A fine sight bowling along up front and he totally gave his rivals the slip when a runaway winner under Tom Marquand of this race last year (good) and the Goodwood Cup on latest start (good to soft); they were his career-best efforts but a 1m6f Listed win here in June came on good to firm; today's rivals, four of whom were in his wake at Goodwood, will be mindful not too give him too much rope but that's sometimes proved much easier said than done.

Form & Verdict

Highly progressive in handicaps last year on various ground; campaign ended with November Handicap flop but he was back on song with short-head second on reappearance in Group 3 at Newbury (1m4f, good) last month; every chance he'll stay this far and continue to improve for top yard; strong claims.

Down the field in Qatar Group 3 in February but much better than that, as evidenced by last July's Group 2 Princess of Wales's win at Newmarket (1m4f, good to firm) and his close second in the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge at Ascot (1m4f, good) in October; should be suited by this stiff 1m2f and stable has won the last two runnings; leading claims if back to his best now in blinkers.

Close third in C&D handicap at last year's Royal meeting; apparently best form when beating the odds-on Adayar (who's not been seen since) in some style to take Group 2 at Newmarket (1m4f, good to firm) this July, albeit with all three rivals clearly below form; not far away on his other 2023 form.

Form & Verdict

Progressive in handicaps last year (on various ground) before near-miss in Longchamp Listed race (1m6f, soft) in September; heavy ground may not have suited next time; others hold stronger form claims but she's in excellent hands to continue to improve and it will be no surprise to see a big run.

Ran flat in the Group 2 Park Hill at Doncaster (14.5f, soft) last time, but placed four times in Pattern company prior to that as when runner-up in a Chester Listed contest (1m6f, good to soft) on penultimate start; won a four-runner handicap here (1m4f) on only previous AW outing and looks the one to beat.

Creditable second over 1m6f at Leopardstown (Group 3) in July and Chester (Listed) this month; largely consistent but still has only one success on the board and faces a harder task upped to Group 2 level.

Won Group 3 Henry II Stakes at Sandown (2m, good) last month on second run back from absence; carries 5lb penalty and it's a hotter renewal than the one he won two years ago (good to firm), but he's still respected.

Two-time Listed winner who was beaten a nose in a Swedish Group 3 last September; faced tough task in Newmarket Group 2 last time but has now failed to shine on both starts this season and others appeal more.

Beaten in this race for last two years (third in 2022, fourth in 2023); starts this campaign as a 9yo and his losing sequence is mounting up; although not disgraced in the Stockholm Cup International on last appearance, he's vulnerable against these younger rivals.

Wasn't having the best of seasons but rediscovered his touch when runner-up in a Listed event at Newmarket two months ago (1m4f, good), albeit probably flattered to some extent from a handy position (front two were that way throughout); has a bit to find with the best of these anyway.

Successful in this contest two years ago but has a question mark over current form, having badly underperformed this term, and may be on the wane aged eight; hard to support on recent evidence.

Three-time handicap winner (various ground) who returned to form with good fourth of eight in Ascot handicap last month on second start back from an absence; however, this 7yo has plenty to find in today's field.

Now a stone below last winning mark; however, he's far from solid on 2024 AW form and losing spell goes back to 2021; by no means certain to take advantage of the drop in weights.

Hasn't won since 2021 and isn't as good now; back on a competitive mark and closely matched with Andaleep on recent C&D running but there are likelier winners once again.

12lb lower than when winning the 2021 Mallard Handicap and 2lb lower than when going close at Newcastle (1m4f, Tapeta) in December, but finished well behind Valsad there last time; losing run up to 16 and he needs to bounce back.
