Form & Verdict

Finished second in last season's Wokingham off a 7lb higher mark; first three runs this year easy to excuse (slow ground twice and then stumbled leaving the stalls at Newbury) but he showed he retained plenty of ability when going close over 7f at Newbury last month (good); his three best runs on turf have all come over C&D and there is a lot to like about his chance today.

Better than ever in 7f races (soft/good) the last twice, winning at Newbury (Listed) then going very close at Ascot (major handicap); multiple 6f scorer but may not be crying out for the return to this distance.

Form & Verdict

Ran well at Newbury on his reappearance in April before digging deep to repel Spanish Star at Windsor in May (same terms today); respectable fourth at Epsom on Derby day and a big run should be on the cards.

Won a good sprint at York last September before running well in the Ayr Gold Cup; attracted some support ahead of his York reappearance in May but dropped right away, beaten nearly 10l at the finish; best form on good or slower.

In full flow in the second half of 2022, a fourth of 24 in the Gold Cup (good; handles good to soft) showing how effective he is in this type of race; soft and heavy ground probably hasn't helped in two of his four turf starts this year but the other two defeats need excuses; even so, too well treated to ignore, 6lb lower than last September.

Better than ever at the age of eight, winning a 6f handicap at Goodwood and a 7f handicap at Epsom before his fine fifth at Royal Ascot three weeks ago; should remain competitive.

Hasn't looked back since joining this yard, winning five of his last nine starts; well on top with this headgear returned at Newmarket three weeks ago but a 6lb rise in a stronger race asks a stiffer question.

Two wins over 6f on turf last summer and took advantage of a drop in the weights to regain winning form at Chelmsford (6f, AW) nine days ago; 2lb rise still leaves him well treated on previous form and another for the shortlist.

Back to a more realistic mark and March's return to action should have blown away any cobwebs; won second time out last season (Rossa Ryan rode) and he's effective over C&D; one to consider.

Form & Verdict

Unexposed 3yo; won a fillies' maiden at Nottingham in good style in May (6f, good to firm) before a creditable run in Listed company in June; never threatened but kept on steadily for third on last week's handicap debut at Epsom (6f, good to soft); still has time to do better.

Off the mark on her second start in a Nottingham maiden (6f, good to firm) in May and a close third on handicap debut at Epsom (6f, good to soft) in July, but out of the frame in both outings since; wouldn't be sure to appreciate this longer trip on breeding.

Won her maiden over this distance on fast ground; emerged from well off the pace to be bang there on good to soft on handicap debut at Epsom but soft was too testing at Ascot; remains interesting off this sort of mark.
