Useful juvenile hurdler for the Skeltons but last season proved a real struggle and he recently changed hands for £10,000; placed on the Flat but 0-10 overall and others are much preferred.

Better known as a jumper and a pretty smart one; didn't run badly returned to the Flat at Leopardstown (1m7f) ten days ago but looks vulnerable here with plenty of potential on show.

Hasn't yet fulfilled promise of juvenile debut at the Curragh; 9-4 fav, keen in blinkers when faded to fifth in Tipperary maiden last month; switch of headgear for handicap bow and, on paper, could be on a good mark but wouldn't be bullish about that.

Verdict

Not a straightforward maiden to unravel. FISHERMAN’S BEACH shaped particularly well in a Limerick maiden won by Ethical Diamond who fetched big money at the recent Newmarket sales, while the runner-up has impressed since. Feathertop was evidently learning on the job when third at Gowran and could be the danger, though her stablemate Hardpoint needs checking out in the market. [Alistair Jones]
