Smart front-runner who completed a hat-trick of Group wins last season; regained the winning thread in Listed grade at York (1m6f) on latest start; however, record suggests he's vulnerable back at the top level.

A fine sight bowling along up front and he totally gave his rivals the slip when a runaway winner under Tom Marquand of this race last year (good) and the Goodwood Cup on latest start (good to soft); they were his career-best efforts but a 1m6f Listed win here in June came on good to firm; today's rivals, four of whom were in his wake at Goodwood, will be mindful not too give him too much rope but that's sometimes proved much easier said than done.

Front-runner who completed Group-race hat-trick with easy win in Group 2 Lonsdale Cup here (2m, good) last August; not at very best on either run this year but it wasn't a bad run when 3l fourth of six in the Yorkshire Cup over C&D (good to firm) last month and he could build on that; key player.

Ballydoyle filly who found the surface faster than ideal in the Ascot Gold Cup (finished fourth); particularly progressive on testing ground, with form figures of 4111 on soft/heavy, most recently winning the Curragh Cup (1m6f) ten days ago; respected granted optimum conditions.

Group 3 winner here (2m soft to heavy) at the end of last term and impressive when making a winning return in a Listed race at Navan (1m6f, heavy) in April; bounced back from a lesser run when fourth in the Ascot Gold Cup and looks like a big player with conditions in her favour.

Acts on good to firm and good to soft; still progressing at the age of six, having won the Sagaro in great style on reappearance then finished a close second to Courage Mon Ami when favourite for the Ascot Gold Cup; major contender in this second Goodwood Cup attempt (fourth last year).

His only two runs on soft (unraced on heavy) were in 2020 and in the Doncaster Cup five weeks ago, below form in both; pipped by Trueshan in this race last year (good to soft) and in career-best form this season, showing it twice at this track and when winning at York on penultimate start; soft or heavy ground is the big worry.

His only run on soft was in 2020 (below form) but he held Trueshan off by a neck in this race last year on good to soft; the positions were reversed at Ascot last October but this 6yo has had much the better season this year with his two Group 1 placings and wins in a Group 3 and Group 2; looks set to go well again.

Runner-up to Quickthorn in this race last year; better than ever to start this season when winning a 2m Group 3 in great style and a close second to Courage Mon Ami on good to firm in the Gold Cup, both at Ascot; raced in second for most of the way in the Goodwood Cup but too far adrift of front-runner Quickthorn and lost second on the line; balance of form suggests he will end up in the firing line.

Acts on good to firm and good to soft; disappointing in the Ascot Gold Cup but has otherwise been generally progressive and looked a promising Cup horse; won the 2022 St Leger and ran well (close second to Giavellotto) in this year's Yorkshire Cup; may still have more to offer.

Progressive last term and emerged on top by half a length in the 1m6f Yorkshire Cup here (good to firm) this May, when Broome was third and Quickthorn fourth; not seen again until the Goodwood Cup (2m, good to soft) where he was never dangerous, like all Quickthorn's pursuers, but involved in the very tight finish for second and showed enough to suggest he stays 2m; while peak form does not match some of these, he's less exposed in the Cup races and could be in the shake-up.

Gelded after this two AW wins last autumn; patently well treated off 98 in 1m6f handicap here on reappearance, then followed up in the Ascot Gold Cup (again on good to firm) where he beat several of these rivals; improving fast, remains unbeaten and promises to be a long-term top stayer of the Stradivarius ilk for same yard.

The way he made light work in the end of two 1m4f novice races on AW last autumn marked him down as a very serious prospect; handicap win at Goodwood (1m6f, good to firm; smart form) last month confirmed that in spades, as class and stamina came into play late on; 2m+ looks sure to suit and, although this company is of a radically higher order than in those three races, it is hard to put a ceiling right now on what he might achieve.

Kept mostly to Listed/Group races for two years but he broke his long losing run in handicap at Chester (2m2f, soft) two weeks ago, wearing down Emiyn; 4lb penalty in this much more competitive race demands another step back up the ladder but the return to winning way still rates a positive, especially as it showed he can still grind out a good performance in the mud.

No win since July 2021; while still a smart stayer, as shown by his front-running third in C&D Group 3 (good to soft) two starts back, the combination of firmer ground and trip this short make this look a tough task.

Went close in the 2021 Irish Derby for previous yard; holds weaker claims on his form for new stable but is interesting on first crack at 2m, having looked a non-stayer (and shaped better than bare result) over 2m4f in the Ascot Gold Cup when having first go beyond 1m5f; 2-3 at Goodwood.

Went close in the 2021 Irish Derby; not so good since and soundly beaten in this race last year on his sole run on heavy going; second to Hamish at Chester (1m5f, soft) in May is clearly the best of his five runs for new yard this season; his next two runs were admittedly Group 1s but Chester Listed race last time gives him lots to find.
