50,000gns yearling, 18,000gns 2yo; fourth foal; half-brother to 1m AW winner Endless Power (RPR 85); dam unraced half-sister to Oaks winner Qualify and Group-placed 7f-1m4f winner Shogun, out of 12.6f winner/Park Hill second Perihelion; could be a longer-term prospect on pedigree and is best watched on debut unless market is persuasive.

Out of an unraced half-sister to Oaks winner Qualify; made a promising start when a close third here (7f) in December and he built on that with a comfortable success in a Chelmsford maiden (odds-on) last month; now goes handicapping off what looks a fair mark and he's open to more progress on this step up in trip; big player.

Looked in need of the experience when sixth of eight at Catterick (5f, good to soft; 10-1) last month; has good pedigree and should know more this time but she needs to leave her debut form a long way behind.

Stronger in the market second time out at Bath (5.5f, good to soft; 13-2) and hit the frame, albeit behind one who had taken five goes to get off the mark; the time wasn't great.

Signs of some ability despite running green when sixth of eight on Catterick debut (5f, good to soft; 10-1) in July; could come on plenty for the run with yard having a fine strike-rate with 2yos this year (13-55) and 1-3 with them here overall.

Form & Verdict

Five-race maiden but was third in her last two starts in Ireland and she went down fighting when a close second on her stable debut at Bath (5.6f, good to soft) last week; pulled clear with her main market rival in that race and has leading claims on that form; cheekpieces added.

Appeared held by the penalty for her 5.5f Bath maiden success (good to soft) when coming up under 1l short on this month's follow-up bid at Chelmsford (6f); this sharp track may play to her attacking strengths.

On the up for Archie Watson, following her near miss at Bath on last month's stable debut with a breakthrough win at the same track a fortnight ago (5.5f, good to soft; made all in first-time cheekpieces); solid candidate despite her 5lb penalty.

Improved greatly on first two starts when third on final two runs in Ireland (about 5f, soft/6f, good) and there was hardly anything in it when she went down narrowly over C&D 15 days ago on debut for new yard; looks sure to be bang there; cheekpieces fitted.

Form & Verdict

Found plenty of improvement when going close in an Epsom maiden (7f, good to firm) last month; didn't match that form when fourth at Catterick two weeks ago but she seemed to pay the price for setting a strong pace; still has potential and she could resume her progress on this drop back to 6f.

Made a promising start when runner-up at Kempton (5f, AW) in May and she built on that with her close second over 6f there two weeks later; returns from a break but she's open to more progress on this switch to turf and is respected.

Thereabouts in all starts at sprint trips; probably not much in it as to whether she's better at 5f or 6f and she has the benefit of C&D experience; readiness for this is the question, having been off since September.

Verdict

Top of the list is KANDOO, who finished placed in her last two runs in Ireland and went down fighting in a close second on her stable debut at Bath last week. She sets the standard on that form and should have more to offer for Archie Watson. Dual Kempton runner-up Sparklight is feared most on her return from a break, although Nelson Rose has shown plenty of speed in her last two runs and could resume her progress on this drop back to 6f. The most interesting newcomer is Tara Atacama.[David Moon]
