Form & Verdict

On his three previous visits here he's finished 114 in the Stayers' Hurdle, so in a different league to his rivals in that discipline; very much the one to beat, for all that he's left it rather late to go over fences and wasn't at his razor-sharp best last season despite his fourth here.

By some way the best of these over hurdles, dual Stayers Hurdle winner returned to Cheltenham for chasing debut last month when making much of running and jumping generally soundly for ready success over today's trip; seems set to take high rank among the staying novices' division although this presents a much stiffer task and ideally best going left-handed.

Form & Verdict

Progressed well last season in handicap hurdles and lots to like about his debut success over fences at Worcester (2m7f, good to soft) where he made all and jumped well; however, hard to ignore that Sam Twiston-Davies gets off to partner stablemate Weveallbeencaught.

Progressed last season in handicap hurdles but is already a far superior chaser; impressed at Worcester (2m7f, good to soft) on first attempt in beating a subsequent winner, before ultimately outclassed up the hill by former star staying hurdler Flooring Porter over C&D; would hold every chance with a repeat of that, for all that he's not guaranteed to confirm placings with the third Weveallbeencaught (who lacked a run).

Ended last season in excellent form over hurdles, most recently when gamely making all in Class 2 handicap at Cheltenham (3m, good) in April; still lightly raced after only seven starts and Nigel Twiston-Davies is evidently very keen to switch him to fences; major player.

Form & Verdict

Beat a subsequent Grade 2 winner in a maiden hurdle here on New Year's Day (2m4f, good to soft) and his seventh back here in the Albert Bartlett (3m, soft) wasn't too shoddy a run; cost £210,000 after winning an Irish point and chasing was always going to be his game.

Best runs last season as a novice hurdler came here when beating a subsequent Grade 2 winner in a maiden and when seventh in the Albert Bartlett (3m, soft); he was bought with chasing in mind when fetching £210,000 following his Irish point win and there were plenty of positives to take from his chase debut over C&D three weeks ago (good to soft) when only just behind his stablemate Broadway Boy; big individual who can strip fitter now.

Fended off a subsequent Grade 2 winner in Cheltenham maiden (2m4f, good to soft) on New Year's Day and put a lesser effort behind him when respectable seventh (15l behind Stay Away Fay) in the Albert Bartlett (3m, soft); however, others have more pressing claims.

Form & Verdict

Useful hurdler, though inferior to his three rivals; has soon raised his game over fences, defying his lack of experience after one chase run to win the always-competitive 2m6f Galway Blazers Handicap (good; handles softer) before being beaten in a match at Killarney; looks up against it with his penalties.
