Form & Verdict

Rated some 21lb higher when starting out for Tim Easterby in April and he has belatedly found some form in recent weeks, most recently keeping on for second in a 5f lady amateurs event at Nottingham (heavy); return to 6f can help and he's one to consider.

Better on AW but he exploited his reduced mark at Hamilton in September (6f, good to soft), seeing off 11 rivals in a race that has worked out well; not quite at the same level at Ripon four days later but he still appeals as being ahead of the handicapper and has won on soft (more to prove on heavy); one to consider.

Verdict

It is hard to discount many in a competitive race of its type. Eldeyaar is chasing a hat-trick and still looks on a feasible mark, while Object, John Kirkup, Highjacked and course regular Langholm are also of some interest. Redrosezorro and Two Summers won divisions of this race 12 months ago, while 3yo Kitbag has had few chances on turf and handled soft going well last time. The form of MR TREVOR’s Hamilton win last month has a solid look to it though and he may be the answer in a race where he may be able to stalk the likely strong pace.[Paul Smith]
