Had four of these behind when winning quite decisively at Ludlow three weeks ago; 7lb penalty makes life tougher and she has to prove herself on the likely ground, having never run on softer than good.

Went close in 1m6f Flat handicap in July (RPR 69) and has finished second in two Fontwell hurdles for new stable since; ground slower than good would be new to her but, otherwise, she has pretty solid each-way claims.

Unplaced on the Flat and a long way behind four of these when eighth on last month's Ludlow hurdle debut (200-1).

Displayed significant promise in two 7f 2yo maidens in Ireland last autumn but both Flat runs in the spring were disappointing; changed hands for 2,500gns in July; makes stable/hurdle debut here.

Five starts on the Flat in France this year, winning the latest in July (claimer, 11.5f); bought for 21,000gns since; half-sister to a 3m hurdle winner so worth a second glance on British/hurdle debut.

0-10 but has run well to make the frame on her last three starts (1m3f-2m, soft/heavy) and she's also shown promise on fast ground; wears a first-time visor and makes more appeal than most in this weak race.

Form & Verdict

Modest Flat maiden and well beaten in first two efforts over hurdles; much better when beaten about ten lengths by Grain Of Hope at Ludlow (hampered early and stayed on well from the rear); could be a threat if building on that and proving as effective on softish ground.

Quite consistent in four hurdle starts without suggesting that she's progressing; beaten six lengths by Grain Of Hope at Ludlow and ought to finish closer with a 7lb pull; has run well on good to soft as well.

Flat winner; second favourite for last month's stable/hurdle debut but could only manage fifth at Ludlow, behind three of these; might well do better with the benefit of that experience but will need to.

Four French Flat wins; well held on British debut in July and beaten 35l (behind Limelight) on her hurdling debut at Stratford in August; shaped with more promise than that looks and is now reunited with the aids worn in France; not a forlorn hope if they spark a revival.

Four French Flat wins, at up to 1m2f; well beaten at Newmarket on British debut and again when sent over hurdles in August; plenty to prove on that basis but aids return and that could spark a major improvement.

Four French Flat wins at up to 1m2f, the latest pair this spring, including on soft ground; well beaten over 1m4f on sole British start last month; more interesting than most of the hurdling newcomers although headgear/tongue-strap worn in France again missing.

Verdict

Grain Of Hope (second choice) may confirm Ludlow form with her victims, although she needs to prove herself on ground softer than good. Both of Stuart Edmunds’ runners can be considered but perhaps SAISISSANTE can take a major step forward with the aids back on.[Jonathan Neesom]
