Form & Verdict

It was a strong novice that he won decisively over 1m3f here in July (runner-up now BHA-rated 108 and the third 91) and he confirmed the merit of that effort when close up in a Listed race at Windsor (11.5f, good to firm) the following month; not quite so good at Newmarket in September but returning to AW no bother and he's not fully exposed.

Half-brother to Gold Cup winner Courage Mon Ami; skipped clear in a 1m3f novice in July on second AW start; second favourite for Listed race at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm) five weeks ago, racing freely in rear before challenging well over 1f out, finishing a close third of six to Candleford; still had something to learn and could take another step forward.

Half-brother to Gold Cup winner Courage Mon Ami (three other siblings also posted triple-digit RPRs) and likely to stay well himself given that he holds a St Leger entry; not that he looked short of speed when skipping clear in a 1m3f AW novice last time, the form of which has worked out very well; intriguing contender.

Form & Verdict

Successful in a 1m maiden and novice here on his first two starts; made a nonsense of his opening handicap mark at Newmarket in August (1m2f, good to firm) and today's longer trip should be within range; can maintain his unbeaten record back on Polytrack.

Half-brother to Breeders' Cup Turf winner Rebel's Romance; asked some questions when odds on at Kempton (1m, AW) for a maiden in February and novice in August but answered them to assert in good style; hooded both starts; beat a pretty useful rival last time and this extra 2f should suit, so no surprise if he proves better than this opening mark.

Justified skinny odds when making an impressive winning debut over C&D in February (runner-up won his next two starts); this beautifully bred colt remains open to any amount of improvement, but a bit disconcerting that he hasn't been seen since.

Form & Verdict

Three course wins in 2022, notably a Listed event last November; back at that level when fourth of seven in a C&D Group 3 in September; whether he'll be able to see off some promising 3yos in a potentially tactical affair is questionable, though.

Nothing to prove with regard to the suitability of the track having won three times over 1m3f/1m4f here last year; well held in both starts after returning in April (including back here) and has been off for another 132 days since; this a tough race in which to try and bounce back.

Useful 2yo (Tapeta winner and Group 3-placed); slow start to this season but he returned to form with a bang in a Class 2 1m4f handicap at Newcastle three weeks ago; could still have more in the tank.

Won his maiden here last backend before finishing a solid second in the Group 3 Zetland (1m2f); has struggled badly in two runs this time, though, pulling hard in the spring before finishing tailed off upped to this trip recently; plenty to prove.

Dropped to the back over 4f out in Group 3 here (1m2f, good) on final 2yo start and carried head awkwardly, but he stayed on well into second of nine; had 2,000 Guineas and Derby entries when second favourite for Listed race here (1m1f, good to soft) in April but tailed off and not seen since; likely to stay and it will be interesting to see if his backers return.
