Form & Verdict

Only blip last season came when too free for his own good in Newbury's Betfair and he signed off with victory in a deep Scottish Champion Hurdle; looks primed for further progress judged on his Kempton return when he comfortably conceded weight to higher-rated opposition (made the running as usual); the only doubts are the omission of a hood (worn for last three races) and this softer ground when his improvement has come on good.

Made all in this race a year ago (good ground) and followed up with another front-running success in Grade 2 at Wincanton (good to soft) three weeks later; signed off with very respectable sixth on slower-than-ideal ground in Scottish Champion Hurdle in April and ought to make a bold bid.

Form & Verdict

They were minor hurdles he won last season but he beat respected opposition on both occasions and presumably failed to give his running when a beaten favourite behind Rubaud in a Grade 2; soon steadied the ship with a career-best fourth at Aintree (2m, good to soft) where he moved as well as anything to two out; strong traveller who should be suited by this test of speed.

Has won on soft; excellent fourth in Grade 1 novice at Aintree in April; travelled smoothly to two out and responded well thereafter when winning eight-runner Grade 3 handicap at Newbury (again 2m on good to soft) three weeks ago; up 4lb and in a much stronger field but he's a serious prospect.

Fine fourth in Grade 1 Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree (2m, good to soft) in April and that form reads well; returned with respectable second of four in Grade 2 Elite Hurdle at Wincanton (2m, good to soft), which may have got the freshness out of him (didn't settle); one to consider on handicap debut.

Form & Verdict

Consistent hurdler and something went amiss with the tack when unseating mid-race in a handicap at Cheltenham two weeks ago; however, there's nothing in his profile to suggest he can prevail on these unfavourable terms.

He's 8lb higher than when winning at Warwick (2m, good) in May but posted some good efforts in defeat in handicaps subsequently and ran as well as could be expected in a Grade 2 last time; each-way claims.

Seemingly revitalised by a wind op in early part of this season (unlucky not to complete a double) and has held his form well since but will probably find others in this field better handicapped.

Record of 2-16 over hurdles and 4-8 as a chaser, having won 2m5f/2m3f handicaps over fences last month; returns to hurdling with a lot on his plate at these weights.

Keen-goer who was back in prime form when running her rivals ragged from the front at Plumpton (3m1f, good) a week ago and is now 6-21 over fences; will be fine over today's shorter trip and on this right-handed track; could take some catching under 7lb penalty.

Keen-goer who reverted to much more positive tactics when second to a course specialist at Ludlow (3m, good) last month; remains on a good mark and could take some catching if she gets into a good rhythm here.
