Has been beaten only twice, by Constitution Hill in the 2022 Supreme Novices' Hurdle, and by another potential superstar in El Fabiolo in the Arkle over C&D this March; won three Grade 1s during last season's novice chase campaign and holds strong claims on this reappearance; has won on good-soft.

Grade 1 novice hurdle winner last season and a dual Grade 1 novice chase winner this term, firstly over C&D (good to soft) in Henry VIII in December and more recently when left clear at final fence for wide-margin success at Aintree (2m, good to soft) two weeks ago; tackles stronger opposition in this open Grade 1 but it will be no surprise if he's up to the task. |

His only defeat over hurdles came at the hands of superstar stablemate Constitution Hill in last season's Supreme at Cheltenham (after which he won at this meeting) and beaten only once over fences when second to the exciting El Fabiolo in last month's Arkle; didn't jump with his usual zest in the latter out of ground described as "tacky" by his rider and, with nothing of his conqueror's calibre to worry about here, he should be extremely hard to beat. |

Won the Arkle over C&D (good to soft) in March 2022 and reappeared last season with easy win in the Tingle Creek at Sandown (1m7f, good to soft); narrowly beaten by Editeur Du Gite here (2m, soft) in January; flopped in Champion Chase here in March but can play a leading role if back to his best.

Has won the last two runnings of this race (good ground) and he was a Grade 2 winner on soft in 2020; pulled up in the Champion Chase here in March when last seen and he's up against it today if his rivals bring their peak form, but that's not guaranteed at this stage of the season whereas he has an excellent reappearance record; not discounted.

Front-runner who easily won the Grade 2 Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton (2m, soft) last December then rallied to beat Edwardstone here (2m, soft) in the rearranged Grade 1 Clarence House; of interest on those peak efforts and he may have needed his recent reappearance at Exeter, but he's now been well beaten on each of his last three runs and has to get back on track.

Front-runner; emerged through the handicap ranks to secure Graded honours last season with surprise wins at Kempton and Cheltenham (both 2m on soft), latterly taking the notable scalp of Edwardstone in a Grade 1; signed off with a couple of no-shows and will need his wits about him to concede weight all round here; an easy lead would aid his cause no end. |

Forceful front-runner who took his form to a whole new level during the winter, winning on soft ground (also effective on good) in Kempton Grade 2 and Cheltenham Grade 1; didn't fire in last month's Champion Chase at Cheltenham but will take some catching if back on song. |
