Bled when pulled up last time; mostly consistent since sent over fences (winning three times) and he just missed out behind Cloudy Wednesday in his final completion; cheekpieces worn the last twice are left off.

Dual course winner in 2022 (2m4f/2m6f) but has regressed and become inconsistent; didn't run badly in selling hurdle on Boxing Day (first-time blinkers) and is versatile regarding ground but younger rivals appeal more.

Winning hurdler who would have finished much closer in a stronger race at Worcester in October 2022 (2m7f, good; chase debut) had he not whacked two out; has a long absence to overcome but probably on a fair mark.

Perhaps coped best with the heavy ground when off the mark over hurdles at Ffos Las (2m) and then, off this 5lb higher mark, she finished a well-held third at Exeter, behind Queen Of Steel whom she had behind at Ffos Las; should give her running but perhaps vulnerable.

Verdict

The key race could be the Warwick chase won by Supasunrise and in which MILTIADES looked as though he would finish closer until weakening late on (eased on the run-in). The winner had a hard race and the selection is not without hope of reversing those placings. Cloudy Wednesday is preferred of the remainder.[Alistair Jones]
