Does not have an exciting pedigree but outran 33-1 odds when coming from the rear to go close on debut at Ludlow (soft) in December; probably sets a fair form standard; strong contender.

Joined Chris Gordon for £110,000 after finishing second in an Irish point; 12-1 for his bumper debut at Ascot (soft) where he stayed on to finish third off modest fractions; that form has yet to be tested but the front two are probably useful.

Third at Ascot in November; won at Kempton next time (soft) but disappointing to see him come up short when penalised at Fontwell; he wouldn't be the obvious answer on the back of that.

Placed in good race at Ascot (soft) on rules debut in November and created pretty good impression when scoring at Kempton (soft) last month; has penalty to carry here but ought to play another major role.

Second foal; dam bumper/2m hurdle winner, sister to bumper and 2m/2m3f hurdle winner War Creation; the stable won this two years ago, albeit with one who had the benefit of experience.

Bought for 100,000euros as a 3yo; the stable second string when a 15l fourth of six in a heavy-ground bumper at Chepstow last month; kinder conditions here might be more favourable and he should be all the wiser.

Out of a useful and well-connected bumper winner; showed his inexperience and made just a mildly encouraging debut when fourth of six over C&D (heavy) last month but ought to be more streetwise today.

Bought for £115,000 soon after winning a 3m Irish point (yielding) back in May; runner-up Village Master contests the opening race on this card; has a good pedigree and makes obvious appeal for his top yard.

Verdict

After being held up off steady fractions, ELECTRIC MASON wouldn’t have been seen to best effect at Ascot and yet still finished third behind two nice prospects. Western Harmony is of obvious interest and it’s worth referring to the opening race on the card in which the horse he beat in his point is due to make his rules debut. Mount Gay Run may have been unsuited by the heavy ground at Chepstow.[Alistair Jones]
