Form & Verdict

Has never fulfilled the promise of his brilliant win in the 2021 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at the Festival (2m5f, good to soft) but has still won four of his subsequent eight starts, most recently the Grade 2 Lismullen Hurdle at Navan (2m4f, soft to heavy) in November on his reappearance; he beat some quality performers last time and is entitled to considerable respect.

He failed to fulfil the superstar potential shown when easily winning the 2m5f Grade 1 novice hurdle at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival but has been rejuvenated this season, winning two 2m4f Grade 2s; another big run when second to subsequent Champion Hurdle winner State Man over an inadequate 2m in the Irish Champion Hurdle in February (soft), beating third-placed Impaire Et Passe by 5l, and he's a leading candidate now back up in distance.

Below-par favourite on reappearance at Newbury last month but her jockey reported she was "buzzy" and that run may have got the freshness out of her; won this last year (soft) and fine second in Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree (3m, good to soft) in April; leading claims if back to her best.

She hasn't found her peak form this season and, with the yard under a cloud, she was pulled up at Cheltenham last month; it remains to be seen if her stable is back on song but she did win a mares' Grade 2 at Doncaster in January and a good case can be made on last season's best efforts, including her second in the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle here (3m, good to soft) last April; also effective on soft and over 2m4f; not discounted.

Ran respectably, albeit no match for rejuvenated Bob Olinger, at Cheltenham on New Year's Day when bidding for second Relkeel success; peak form, which includes Grade 1 wins, gives her leading claims.

Form & Verdict

Bang there when falling at the final flight in this race in 2022 (soft), but soundly beaten fifth of nine behind Marie's Rock 12 months ago (soft); won the Grade 2 National Spirit at Fontwell (2m3f, good) in February and he may have needed November's reappearance run at Aintree, but this 11yo has a patchy profile nowadays and could be vulnerable once more.

11yo whose can be inconsistent but he won the Grade 2 National Spirit at Fontwell (2m3f, good) last February and ran okay when third of four in Grade 2 Relkeel at Cheltenham (2m4f, heavy) on New Year's Day; no surprise to see a good performance on first handicap start since January 2021.

Fair ninth in Supreme Novices' here (2m, soft) in March and second in Grade 1 Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree (2m, good to soft) next time; back to form when second in Grade 2 Ascot Hurdle (2m3f, good) in November and this lightly raced 7yo is a possible improver, but it's needed in this field.

Absent since running well in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham (good to soft; wore cheekpieces; Grade 2) 11 weeks ago on first attempt over 3m; unexposed at this trip and his Aintree form includes a good second in Grade 1 novice (2m) at this meeting last year; possibilities.
